Chapter 10

You had lost Gandalf after your mad dash across the field, but you didn't really care at the moment. You made it to the Hidden Passage.

The adrenaline had left your system. You didn't really mean to do it, but you dropped Thorin, he landed on the ground with a thud. When he stood up, you were expecting him to snap at you, or at least glare, but to your surprise, he just glanced at you before walking away, to keep watch for the others to catch up.

You leaned on the rock's cool surface, waiting for your breathing to calm down.

...
..
.

Wait...

Shit... you face palmed. How could you be so stupid!?
If you hadn't have ran off like that, it would still go how it was supposed to, now the Orcs won't know the dwarves are here.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" You muttered to yourself.

Thorin looked back at you, not knowing for once what to say, or do.

The rest of the group finally came running up, huffing and puffing. "T-the Orcs..." Kili stopped to catch his breath, "They're after us. They know we're here!"

You didn't know if you should be relieved, or scared that an angry pack of Orcs were on your tail. Either way, the story was kinda going as it was supposed to. I guess.

Making a quick decision, you decided you couldn't wait for Gandalf to lead them down the passage. "Alright, there is a hole down there." You pointed to the big rock. "Go, quickly!" You yelled, pushing the dwarves towards the boulder.

They protested, trying to stop, but as soon as one of the dwarves fell down the tunnel, disappearing. There was a pause, before he yelled that it was safe.

They stopped resisting and started jumping down one by one.
The only ones left were Thorin, Bilbo, and you. Bilbo tried to make you go down before either of them, but you refused. You couldn't risk one of them being shot or killed by the Orcs.

You could tell that Thorin was getting irritated. You sighed and grabbed Bilbo before jumping down, leaving Thorin outside. Bilbo clung to you as you both slid down. A squeak left him as you hit the ground and rolled, but you made sure not to crush the poor hobbit as the two of you rolled.

You let Bilbo out from under you, he stood up, about to help you stand.

You tried to stand up on your own, but something slammed into you from behind, causing a gasp to leave you as you hit the ground. The thing, or should I say person that hit you, was now laying on you. "You are to slow, you should have moved out of my way."

It was Thorin, of course it was him.

You started to stand again, causing him to slide off of your back and onto the cold stone ground.

Looking up, you seen Gandalf emerging from the pass way. He looked surprised to see everyone in the tunnel, but then he spotted you and understood. He nodded to you before looking down at Thorin, who was still on the ground, with his usual sour look.

Thorin got up off the ground, but the sound of a horn made everyone look up. The sound of arrows whisking through the air, swords clashing with other swords, and hooves came closer.

Suddenly, a body fell down the hole. It was an Orc. Thorin pulled the arrow out of it's head and inspected it. He threw it down in disgust. "Elves." He spat.

The sound of screeching and metal faded away.

Bilbo had found himself standing beside you again.

"I can't see where the pathway leads. Do we follow it or no?" Dwalin yelled from his spot in the passage.

"We follow it of course!" Bofur answered before Thorin had a chance to say anything.

They all quickly followed Dwalin and Bofur through the tunnel.

As you brought up the rear, you felt someone pick up your rope that had been dragged in the dirt behind you.
You looked back, and saw Thorin picking the rope off of the ground.

He walked in front of you, but he didn't pull you. Which was surprising. He just kept walking.

_______________ ___ __ _

As all of you emerge from the pass way. Your eyes were met with the most beautiful scenery you had ever seen. Houses, beautiful tall, and smooth sculptured houses that were laid upon a luscious green platform. Waterfalls, small and large, surrounded the city like place. Beautiful blue water thunder down into the sea. You knew this place. It was more astonishing and beautiful than in the Book, or movie. It was breathtaking... It was Rivendell.

You were so emerged into the scenery, that you didn't realize that the company was already moving down into the valley, until Thorin gave a soft tug on the ropes.
