Queen Amy chuckled with satisfaction quietly while she watched Shadow and Rouge leaving the great throne room. Necklace was now in slave's pocket, and she was finally able to prosecute Shadow for stealing it from her. Now she just had to wait that Sonic would leave the castle for a while. She didn't have to wait long, since right about this time king Sonic was about to leave with king Mephiles to his kingdom. Sonic wanted to make sure that duke Eggman wouldn't be able to attack king Mephiles on his way home and that is why he was going to leave with Mephiles. Queen Amy smiled triumphantly, as she watched out of the window and saw how the soldiers were preparing king Sonic's steed. When the king is gone, the queen Amy could do whatever she just wanted to. And right now, she wanted Shadow out of the picture more than anything else. But she didn't had much time. King Sonic would be out for up to an hour and in that time she had to get Shadow in the dungeon, which was in the basement of the castle. It would be difficult, but fortunately queen Amy was naturally cunning and a good actor. Or at least she thought so. Amy turned again to look out of the window and she discovered, luckily for her, that his beloved king and the king Mephiles just left with a few guard. Amy smiled even more premature, triumphant smile and stood up. She started to walk towards her own chamber where soon beginning 'play' and its first chapter would take place...

Meanwhile, Shadow and Rouge were walking back to the throne room. They had more roses with them. They were just about to put more roses in vases when they suddenly heard a scream.

"That sounded like a queen!" Rouge said, with a little bit concerned voice. The two looked at each other and they rushed quickly out of the throne room, leaving the roses lying on the floor. They ran in the direction which from they thought they heard a scream. Soon, they found themselves in front of the queen Amy's chamber. Rouge knocked urgently on the door.

"Queen Amy, are you alright, my queen?" she asked with concern. Rouge stepped back a little when the door of the room opened. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw who opened the door.

"Knuckles ..?" She said in wonder. Red echidna in his red armor looked at a white bat for a long time before he said anything.

"Hey," he only said and opened a door more so Rouge and Shadow could step in a room. The two entered a room and noticed that queen was sitting on her bed, weeping profusely and shaking slightly. Rouge rushed to her queen's side.

"My queen, what's wrong? Why do you cry?" she asked. Queen Amy sobbed and looked at her handmaiden a little behind her handkerchief.

"My dearest and most precious necklace is gone, miss Rouge! I got it from my dear king a long time ago and it is very important to me! It is also valuable because it has such a huge diamond on it! I am quite sure that someone has stolen it!" she cried out.

"Please, calm down, my queen. I'm sure we will find your necklace somewhere. Maybe you forgot where you put it, my queen?" Rouge tried to comfort the queen.

"I do not think so. I always put my jewelry in the jewelry box! And I never would lose so important piece of jewelry, miss Rouge!" queen Amy said with sobbing. Shadow looked at them in silence and he felt a little sorry for queen Amy.

"My queen, we can help you by searching for your necklace. I'm sure we will find it. If only we only look all over the castle. I'm sure that the necklace can be found," Shadow said gently. Amy turned to look at Shadow with her eyes filled with tears and sadness.

"Oh Shadow, thank you! You're so sweet," the queen said. Shadow smiled just a little bit. Rouge got up from queen's bed and looked at her.

"We will immediately start to look for your necklace, my queen. We also ask the other servants to help," Rouge said. Knuckles, who had been silent all this time, nodded slightly. Queen Amy smiled and nodded very slightly.

"Oh, thank you. Hopefully, you can find it..." she said. The trio went out of the room at the same time and they all went to ask other servants to help so they could find queen's lost necklace. But of course queen already knew where her necklace was, and now she just had wait until someone would find it from Shadow's pocket. As soon as queen Amy saw that she was alone in her chamber, she began to smile a triumphant smile. She wiped her fake tears away and grinned.

"That went better than I expected..." she thought out loud and giggled. Queen Amy chuckled and was pleased to her plan. Everything was going so well.

The servants, including Rouge and Shadow, explored every possible place where queen's necklace could be, but with no results. Necklace was nowhere to be found. After a long search, they split up and began to look for the neclace from garden. But again with no results. It was already evening when they finally came back inside the castle. Also, Rouge and Shadow had stopped searching the necklace. Now, they walked side by side in the hallway towards the queen's chamber. Neither of them said a word but both of them were wondering where a necklace could be. Even though, queen's precious necklace was so close to Shadow that he didn't even notice it.

"It looks like we need to disappoint our queen," Rouge thought out loud and sighed. Shadow only nodded, feeling sorry for his friend now. Rouge had really tried hard to find a necklace but, of course, without a result. The two walked over to the queen and told the bad news. The queen Amy started to cry a new, fake cry with fake tears. As the queen told them to leave and to leave her alone for the rest of the evening, they left her room. Rouge said goodbye to Shadow before she rushed towards the stairwell that led to the rooms of the knights. Shadow knew immediately where Rouge was going. Shadow sighed. He felt bad for disappointing the queen, even if he didn't like her at all. Shadow tried to forget the whole thing. He walked to his room and closed the door. He looked around a bit with a smile. The room was wonderfully cool and calm. Shadow walked to the window and looked out. It was already evening and the sun had already gone down. He sighed. Sonic had been gone for almost half a day. He missed the king very much. All of a sudden there was a knock on the door of his room. Shadow quickly turned and ran to the door to open it. He waited, that it would be Sonic, but.. At the door, there was standing queen Amy with two large soldiers. Shadow was amazed. Queen Amy smiled her devilish smile, making Shadow to take a few steps back and shivering slightly.

"H-how can I help you, my queen?" Shadow asked carefully. Amy's expression changed immediately. She looked angry now, and turned to look at the soldiers.

"Well, what are you two waiting for? Search him, he is a thief!" Amy exclaimed. The two soldiers nodded quickly, and came closer to Shadow. One grabbed him so he would stay still and the other could do body seach for him. When the other soldier was looking into the pockets of the shirt of Shadow he found something.

"My queen. Is this your necklace?" asked the soldier and took out a golden necklace, with a large emerald green diamond from Shadow's pocket.

"That's my necklace!" Amy exclaimed, trying to play the role as surprised and shocked. Shadow jaw fell open and his eyes widened as he saw a piece of jewelery.

"I.. I don't know how that ended up in my pocket, but I didn't steal it, my queen! " Shadow exclaimed quickly. Amy turned to look at Shadow. She had furious and angry gaze in her eyes.

"You little punk! You stole my most precious and most important necklace! You should be locked in the dungeon and kept there until you rot there!" Amy screamed and then turned to look at the soldiers.

"Take him to the dungeon! I never want to see him again!" she said and took her necklace.

"Yes, my queen," both soldiers said, and picked up Shadow again. Shadow was shaking and he looked shocked.

"I'm not a thief, I swear! You have to believe me!" He tried desperately to scream, but to no avail. The soldiers began to drag him out of the room. Shadow tried to wriggle out of their grips, but it didn't help. The last thing Shadow saw, before he was forcibly dragged out of the room, was queen Amy's triumphant smile.

A moment later, Shadow found himself in a cold dungeon completely from the back of the basement. He sat on the cold stone floor, leaning on the wall. He pressed his hands to his face. This was not his place, he was not part of the dungeon! Shadow was confused, scared and worried. How the necklace had ended up in his pocket? What if king Sonic would find out about this and abandon him? Shadow wrapped his arms around himself while he shivered a lot. He didn't know what he could do now...
