P.O.V. Diega
I sat on a boulder by the waterfall of Kappa, throwing pebbles into the water. For the first time in so long, the water was beautiful, clear and blue; the air was summer warm and all of nature regained its full glory.
Suddenly I felt an arm go around my waist and heard a husky voice, plead into my ear, "Diega..."
His chest pressed against my back, easing me to lightly placing my head on his shoulder. A calm silence dominated the atmosphere. Tears slid down my cheeks.
"I can't...." I gulped, "ya no puedo más....déjame irme...porfa...." I pleaded.
Master Xenon pulled me close. I could feel his pain as well as he felt mine.
"Diega, porfa; why?"
"I've caused you too much pain..I've been nothing but a burden. I've caused so much trouble. You did nothing wrong to have to be punished by having me in your team. It hurts, but I can't keep cursing you nor your team."
There was a long silence. The only sounds to be heard were birds chirping and the water falling down the waterfall. Master ran his hands through my hair slowly.
"Diega," he finally said.
"Yes?"
"Answer me honestly. By that I mean, completely and utterly honestly."
I nodded in agreement, knowing that he can read my soul better than anyone else.
"Do you love me?"
Without realizing it, I jerked forward, hiding my face in my knees. Fear overcame me. Maybe I am misinterpreting the question? Surely he isn't asking me if I love him emotionally-
"Diega...you know what I mean."
Biting down on my lip, I tried to calm myself and prevent myself from crying.
"Yes....I....I admit it.....I do love you. With all my heart, body, soul and mind." I whispered, my voice wavering. "I'm sorry....." Silently, I broke down into tears.
Master Xenon reached over, to pull me back into his embrace.
"Diega....¿puedo decirte algo?"
Wiping my tears away, I nodded.
"You are the most valuable member of the Artemisian's army to me. You are smart. You are clever. You are cunning. You believe in what is right. You fight until the end for the truth. You are the strongest, most powerful, most intelligent member of the team. I wouldn't give you up or let anyone harm you at any price. But not just because of that. But also, because I am emotionally attached to you. I love you with all my heart, body, soul and mind. Please, Diega. Please, I beg of you. Please do not leave."
Saying this, he looked down into my eyes. His eyes were moist, and I could see his pain. For the first time, he exposed his emotions of innocent and vulnerability.
"Tú me lo dices...¿de verdad?"
"Sí, Diega, de verdad."
The gentleness of his voice coaxed me back into his embrace. After a while of his patience, I turned slightly to regain eye contact and replied to his earlier question, "As you wish, Master."
I guess it's true, you never know what the future is going to bring.
A/N: I added a bit of Spanish into this chapter as I felt that it felt more natural to use Spanish in some moments of this chapter.
