Maine left her office early. She knows Rj is going to do what he told her so she had to finish her tasks early so she could leave early. On her way out, one of her officemates, Jara, caught up with her.
"Maine, nagring kasi yung telephone mo sa desk the moment you left. Rj daw?" Jara told her.
"Ha? Shit. Ano sabi mo? Please tell me na hindi mo sinabing uuwi na ako." There was panic in her voice. She's dead if Jara told Rj that she went home. And for sure, in no time, Rj would be waiting for her either in the lobby or at her condo building. She was already thinking of Leanne's schedule if in case she needs to run to her and hide from Rj.
"No. Sabi ko you left your desk and I'm not sure san ka pupunta. Kasi di ko naman talaga alam na uuwi ka na."
"Phewwww. Thanks, Jara! Uhm, if tumawag uli. Sabihin mo na lang di mo pa ako nakikitang bumalik ha? Please? Thank youuuu! Libre kita kape sa payday." She smiled at her friend, hoping she'll help her on this one.
"Okay, sige. Sino ba kasi yon? Ikaw ha. Di ka nagkkwento!"
Maine never told her workmates about Rj, or her lovelife. Whenever she's asked if there's anyone special in her life, she'd just reply with a smile. Or if she feels like it, she'll say yes straight up. And she never confirmed if the "guy with dimples" who fetches her sometimes is that "special someone". Should she? She sure didn't have the time to explain to them what their recurring scenario is. It'll just be a waste of time and effort so she just chooses to keep mum about it.
"Huy, Maine? O sige na, babalik na ako sa taas ha? Ingat ka pauwi." Then Jara bussed her cheeks and hugged her.
Maine then went on her way and booked a Grab. While she was waiting for her car to arrive, she received a text message from none other than Rj.
R.F.J | 4:35pm
I called your work phone but someone else answered. Where are you?
She was sure she didn't need to reply but a part of her wanted to. These are the little things about Rj that she misses. The constant checking on her, random calls and texts, fetching her, late night date at wherever their cars could take them. Rj could easily pass as the best boyfriend any girl could ever have. If only....

Mam, and2 na po ako.
She went outside the building and looked for her Grab and she easily spotted it. He greeted Kuya Driver and then her trip home started.
Traffic was a pain in the membrane and she was getting hungry and angry. Hangry, like what millenials would say. Good thing good songs were playing on the radio. She loves music, no matter what genre or who the artist is or if its local or international.
Jimmy Bondoc's Hanggang Dito Na Lang played and she almost lost it. Ain't it amazing how a song feels like it was written specifically for you and for all the pent up emotions?
Akala ko'y habang buhay tayo. Akala ko'y hanggang dulo
Kay haba pa ng kalsada. Dito na ba tayo bababa? The moment Jimmy Bondoc set free the lyrics of the song, Maine was sure she'd be in a feels-trip and will be on her way to memory lane. Oh, the effects of a song.
The lyrics of this song hit home big time. All kinds of emotions, every bit of them, felt all at the same time.
Hanggang dito na lang
Hangang dito na lang
Ikaw ba ang nagbago
O ako
O tayo
Baka tayo
