Rj kept on calling and texting Maine's phone, hoping she'll pick up or maybe send him a text. He sat inside his car, at the parking area of her condo building. When Maine sent her a text about being fetched by Leanne, he already knows that she left her office hours ago. Of course he asked the Kuya Guard of Maine's office building and Kuya told him that he saw her hop inside a car a few hours ago. He had a feeling she'd make up excuses just to shoo him off but he didn't think that Maine was capable of completely ignoring him. She went on undertime and had Leanne fetch her. That was what he was thinking while driving to her condo. But when he got inside the parking area and searched for Maine's car but it was not there, he knew that the car she hopped into, as said by Kuya Guard, was not Leanne's. Her car was not at the parking area, so it means she brought her car. He panicked a little bit because where could Maine be. And who fetched her from the office if not Leanne and why was she fetched by an unknown car if she brought her car?
He waited for her to arrive. He has been sitting there for about 3 hours and Maine still has not answered her phone or replied to his texts. He's on the verge of losing it but he's really worried about her but what is he supposed to do? Could he even do something about it, is the question. At 10:30pm, he decided to go home and just try again tomorrow. He's tired from work and he's sure he'll just snap at her if she arrives. He sent her one last text before driving...
To: M.M | 10:35pm
I've been waiting for you for hours. You're not answering my calls or my texts. I hope you're okay and you're with someone who's going to bring you home in one piece. Maine, text me when you get home. I'm not even asking you if you can. As soon as you reach home, TEXT ME. I'm hella worried about you. I don't know why you're putting me through this kind of stress. I swear, you can be impossible sometimes. Take care. Text me. I love you. Good night. TEXT ME OKAY.

And then Rj drove off, gripping the steering wheel like a mad man, worried about his girl.
*******************
Maine got home at around 12:15am. She was tired, happy tired, because of Leanne and Athan. Athan called Leanne right after they finished having dinner and we're talking about where they should go next. Athan just got off from work and was asking Lee if they wanted to go to a gig at 70's Bistro in Anonas. Of course, Lee informed her boyfriend that she was with her bestfriend beforehand so Athan knows that they're still together. Lee asked Maine if she wanted to come with them and make the most out of her hiding and surprisingly, she said yes. So they went to 70's Bistro and met up with Athan there. Johnoy Danao was playing along with Ebe Dancel and Bullet Dumas. It was a good line up and Maine was glad she tagged along.
Dumas played a few of his songs including Limguhit and Ikaw then a cover of Ang Bandang Shirley's Di Na Babalik which was already an emotional song. Damn you, Bullet for making it a lot more emo! Dancel played some Sugarfree classics like Ikaw Pala and Hari Ng Sablay. He also played Bawat Daan which had Maine a bit teary eyed because that Dancel song is just too much to handle. Last to perform was Danao. He performed his originals like Ikaw at Ako and Dapithapon. There's this one song though, that Maine just couldn't forget...
"Heto ka nanaman, binubuyo nananahimik kong puso
Kailan nga ba ako
Ohhh ohhh
Makakawala sa kapit ng 'yong alaala
Kailangan ko bang mangibang bansa
Ohhh ohhh
Kung kailan ako ay handa na
O kay lupit mo
Binuksan ang tadhana
Di ba't ikaw ang nagtapos
ng kabanata natin
Ohhh ohhh
Ohhh ohhh"
It didn't sound like a sad song, it wasn't a happy song either. But the lyrics sure had something to say. Maine was a crybaby and boy was she glad that she didn't produce waterfalls when Danao played that song. It sounded like a feel good song except that it wasn't. It's about exes who keeps on coming back like they did not do you wrong or like they did not break your heart and make you cry. Maine had to text the lyrics to her own number so she'd remember to Google the title and download it when she gets home.
3D played more songs together and it was a perfect way to cap off the night. They also played a version of Sugarfree's Burnout and who would've thought that that song could turn into something more beautiful? The gig ended at around 11:45pm or something and Leanne rode with Athan on her way home, of course. Maine bade them goodbye and hugged them both, thanking them for allowing her to third wheel and Leanne for accompanying her through dinner. Leanne told her that they should go on more food adventures and that she won't mind if it's gonna be in Marikina again.
Maine reached her unit and went straight to her bathroom to shower because she smells like beer and she hates it. After about 45 minutes, she was already preparing for bed and was looking for her charger because her phone was about to die and she needs to set her alarm for tomorrow. Once her phone was plugged, she checked on the messages she got the whole night. Most of it were from Rj, of course. Mostly asking about where she is and who she's with or if she's really with Leanne and if she could please answer his calls and texts because he was worried. She also has 35 missed calls from him which she thought was very typical of Rj. The last text from Rj kind of irritated her though. Why is he forcing her to text him. Okay, he was worried but really? Didn't they break up already?
She lay in bed thinking of what to do about her current situation with Rj. She wants to just finish everything already and start thinking of what would make her happy. Genuinely happy. Rj makes her happy. Or he used to make her happy, at least. And although she knows that pain comes in package with love and happiness, she just can't stand the idea of being on the sidelines of someone she puts first on her list of priorities. She's always ready to leave whatever the moment Rj says he needs her. Or is she just thinking about it way too much?
She's tired and she doesn't want to make decisions when she's kind of intoxicated. But she's sure of one thing already. She will talk to Rj. But not tomorrow. She'll have to get her act together first before facing Rj. She has to be sure of what she wants first. Before surrendering to sleep, she took her phone and sent a text...
To: R.F.J | 1:25am
I'm home. Mga an hour ago pa. I was with Leanne and her boyfriend and I got home safe and in one piece. Rj, please hear me out. I am going to talk to you. But not now, or tomorrow or the next day. Please understand that I need time to think too. We've been at this for so long and it's exhausting. Let me be na muna. Promise, itetext kita agad once ready na ako. Salamat. Good night.

And then she succumbed to sweet, sweet slumber.
