The sun was just rising, casting a bright glow through the room when Emma slowly opened her eyes. Squinting against the sun, her eyes wandered around the room in search of her baby. As her eyes set on her husband, a smile graced her face when she saw his head resting against her now empty belly. If the slow, even breaths were any indication, he was asleep for a while now. As she lifted her hand, he jerked out of sleep, his face smiling as he realized she was awake. "Where, where is he?" she asked, clearing her throat as her voice was raspy. Jeremiah, noticing this, brought over a cup of water, holding the straw as she greedily drank the refreshing, cold water. Jeremiah looked at her, with love shining brightly in his eyes, and with a smile on his face said, "they are so beautiful, I'm so proud of you Emmy. You did so well. Wait here, I'll go get them for you. " With that said, he exited the room.
