*Peter's POV*

"Your girlfriend is pretty cool," Phil said, as we stood in the driveway. "She's the best," I said, smiling. "We will be heading out now. We should hang out again tomorrow with Dakota," Kam said. "Alright see you guys." They got into their cars and left. I walked inside my house. I walked upstairs into my room. "Where have you been?" Eric asked, walking into my room. "I've been with Kam, Phil, and Dakota." I looked in Eric's hand. He was holding a beer bottle. Oh no. "I asked where. Not who you were hanging out with." "I was just playing basketball at Dakota's apartment." "Yeah right," he said, whipping his bottle at me. It shattered against me. "Ow," I said, cringing in pain. "Don't leave this house without my permission." "Eric, I'm 19 years old. I should be able to leave this house without your permission," I said. "Excuse me? Did you just talk back to me?" Eric asked, raising his voice. "N..no," I stuttered. Eric grabbed me and threw me on the bed. He threw punches at me. "Stop Eric, please," I cried. He kept throwing punches at me. "Eric, I'm sorry." "Sorry's not good enough," he snapped. He put his hand around my throat. I tried gasping for air. Eric took his other hand and stroke my cheek. I could smell the beer from his breath. "You're so handsome," he said, looking into my eyes. I was still trying to gasp for air. Tears rolled down my face as I thought he will never let go. Eric let go of my throat. I coughed. Eric wiped the tears from my face. My breathing was uneven. "Don't talk back to me. Got it?" "Yes, sir," I said, softly. He kissed my lips and got up. He walked out of my room. Dakota texted me. I didn't wanna answer. I decided to take a nap. I woke up. My throat hurt from when Eric choked me. I went downstairs into the kitchen. I grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge. Arms wrapped around me from behind. "Eric. I'm not in the mood," I said turning around. Standing there was Jasmine. "J...Jasmine, what? I'm so confused. I thought you were dead." "Nope. I'm alive." "How? I watched you die." "Well people can always fake their death but make it seem real." "You're sick, Jasmine," I said, pushing her off of me. "Careful. I'm still pregnant." "Why are you in my house?" I asked. "Eric," Jasmine shouted. Eric came downstairs. "Hey baby," Eric said, hugging her. At this point, I was confused. "What's going on?" I asked. "We are dating." "What? Oh man. Why?" Jasmine looked at Eric. "Eric, why don't you put Peter to sleep." Eric smiled and pulled out a knife. "Goodnight,"he said, throwing the knife. It went through my stomach. I woke up screaming. I looked around and sighed in relief. It was just a dream. Eric ran into my room. "Are you okay?" he asked. "Yeah. Just had a bad dream." "Do you want me to stay?" Eric asked. I looked at the time. 12 am? I guess I took a very long nap. "I guess," I said, looking at Eric. He walked over to my bed and laid down beside me. I wrapped my arms around Eric and laid my head on his chest. "To be honest, I love this," I said, closing my eyes. "You do?" "It makes me feel safe. I love this. It makes me smile," I said, smiling. "I'm really shocked that you love this." "I am, too. You need to do this more often," I said, blushing a little. Eric chuckled. "Whatever you want," Eric said. Eric wrapped his arms around me. I looked up at him. "Dakota will be pissed at this if she finds out about this," I said. "Don't tell her. We wont have a problem." "Okay. I'll try not to." "Go to sleep. You have school." I closed my eyes. I fell asleep. "Peter, baby, wake up," I heard someone say. I woke up and saw Dakota sitting down on my bed. I looked around and didn't see Eric next to me. I was kind of sad that he was gone. "What time is it?" I asked, sitting up. "6:30. Are you feeling okay?" she asked. "I'm just...out of it today. Give me 10 minutes okay?" "Okay. I'll wait in the car." Dakota left. I grabbed my clothes and went into the shower. I got out and put my clothes on. I blow dried my hair and brushed my teeth. I walked into my room and grabbed my shoes. "I made you breakfast." I looked up and saw Eric standing at my doorway. I put on my shoes. "Thanks." "You're welcome." We walked downstairs and ate my breakfast. "Bye Eric," I said, grabbing my bag. I walked over to the door. "What? No hug?" Eric asked. I turned around and smiled at him. I put my bag down and ran to him. I hugged him tightly. "Do good in school today, Hernandez," Eric said, rubbing my back. "I'll try. I gotta go," I said, letting go of him. I ran and grabbed my bag. I ran out of the house. I got into Dakota's car. "What took so long?" "How long did I take?" I asked. "20 minutes." "Oh Eric made me breakfast." "What a shocker," Dakota said, pulling out of the driveway. "You know he's nice," I said. "Oh yeah. Throwing glass is so nice," she said, sarcastically. "How did you know he threw glass at me last night?" "There was glass on your floor. I was assuming that was from last night." "If I don't talk back to him or get on his nerves, he's nice to me." "Okay whatever." "What are you so pissed about?" I asked. "You're cuddling with your brother and crap." "Are you spying on me?" "No. I wanted to be cute and go through your fire escape this morning but I saw you and Eric cuddling. I went to the front door so Eric doesn't get pissed." "I had a bad dream, Dakota. He was there for me when I was scared. He's nice, Dakota." "Well if you get beat by him, don't come crying to me." Silence filled the car. "You don't like it when he's nice to me. Why?" I asked, staring out the window. "Peter, he's too friendly to you when he's nice." "I would rather have him be nice to me than to beat me. But I get it, you want him to beat me, huh?" I got out of the car cause we were at school. "Peter wait," I heard Dakota say. I kept walking. I got into the building. "Peter stop walking." I stopped and turned around. "I'm not saying I want him to beat you up. I'm saying that it's weird that you cuddle and kiss him." "If you don't like it then don't date me. I thought you would be supportive about this. Guess I was wrong." I walked away from Dakota. I went to my locker and grabbed my books. All of a sudden, I was pushed against the lockers. I turned around and Kam was standing there. "What is your problem?" I snapped. "Dude I was just joking around." "Sorry I just have a lot on my mind." "With Dakota? Yeah look," Kam said, pointing in her direction. There was this guy standing next to her and they were talking. I shut my locker. I was kinda getting jealous. Does this mean she's moved on? Did we break up? "I guess she really did wanna break up with me," I said, sighing as I watched them talk.
