*Peter's POV cont.*

The whole day, me and Dakota didn't talk. The bell rang for school to end. I went to my locker. "Are you coming with me?" Dakota asked. I shut my locker. "What about that guy? Are you gonna drive him home?" "Who? Travis?" "The only guy you were talking to." "Peter Gene Hernandez, are you jealous?" I looked at her with a disgusted look. "Okay Peter, calm down. He's my lab partner in science. I do have to bring him to my place cause we are working on a project." "Great," I said, sighing. "Would you like to stay at my place and watched us?" "Sure." "Hey Dakota," this Travis guy said. "Hey Travis. This is my boyfriend, Peter." "Nice to meet you, Peter," he said, holding out his hand. I shook his hand. I wrapped my arm around Dakota. "Okay let's go," Dakota said, brushing my arm off of her. As we were walking to her car, I was walking behind them as they talked about some stupid volcano project. We got to her car. "Peter, can you sit in the back?" I glared at Travis. "Yes I would love to," I said, sarcastically. I sat in the back. "Hey, we can go to my house if you want," I said. "Do you want to, Travis?" "Sure." She drove us to my place. We got inside. "Wow nice place," Travis said. "I know. I'm famous so we have a nice house," I said, all proud. "Peter, stop being so cocky," Dakota said. Travis and Dakota sat down on the couch. I walked over to the couch. "Peter, there isn't enough room for you. Sorry, baby," Dakota said. "Of course," I breathed. I put my bag on the floor and went upstairs. I walked into my room. "What's wrong?" I heard Eric ask. I turned around and saw him standing there. "Girlfriend issues," I said, sighing. "What about her?" "She's downstairs with some guy and she's treating me like I'm invisible." I sat down on my bed. Eric walked over and sat down next to me. "Dude, don't let her shut you out. Go down there and show that guy Dakota is taken." "I will thanks." I stood up and went downstairs. Travis and Dakota were still talking. I walked over to them. I sat down on the arm rest next to Dakota. Dakota looked up at me. "Hey sweetie," I said. "Hi, so anyways this is how the volcano should be," Dakota said to Travis. "Do you guys want me to order pizza?" I asked. "Actually I gotta get going," Travis said, packing his things. Dakota packed her stuff. "Bye Peter," Dakota said, hugging me. "Can I come?" "No. I'll come back after if you want." "Okay." Dakota and Travis left. I sat down on the couch and sighed. "Don't worry about that guy. You are way better than he is," I heard Eric say. He walked over to the couch and sat down. "I just don't want her leaving me. The way he looks at her." "But he doesn't look like he has the qualities you do. If she's stupid enough to go after Travis, then that's her problem." "What if I make friends with another girl to show her how it feels," I said, smiling. "Peter, you're fighting fire with fire. You gotta tell her how you really feel." "I'd look like that jealous asshole who can't let her be friends with guys," I said. "Just talk to her when she get back okay?" Eric asked. "Okay," I said, sighing. Eric hugged me and got up. "I'll be in my room if you need anything." "Okay." There was a knock on the door. I walked over to the door and opened it. Dakota was standing there. "Boo, we need to talk," I said as she walked inside. "What's wrong, Peter?" "Come." We walked over to the couch and sat down. "How come you weren't paying attention to me?" I asked. "Cause I had to do my project." "You let him sit in the front." "And? It's just a front seat." "Are you kidding me? Oh man." "Why are you making it a big deal? I don't like Travis. At least I never cheated on you with your best friend," Dakota said, crossing her arms. "At least she wasn't a self-centered little bitch," I snapped. "Wow okay. Goodbye Peter," Dakota said, standing up. "Dakota, I'm sorry." "Peter, you always say that when you screw up. Do you really mean it? I'm gonna go. I'll see you in school." Dakota said, walking to the door. "I thought you changed but I was wrong," Dakota said. She opened up the door and left. I heard foot steps down the stairs. I stood up and faced Eric. I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him. I buried my face in his chest. I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him. I buried my face in my chest. "I'm a horrible boyfriend," I said, sighing. "What happened?" "I was a dumbass and said something that I didn't mean to say. I was just mad." "What did you say?" "I told her Jasmine wasn't a self-centered little bitch like Dakota is." "Why did you say that?" Eric asked. "Cause I'm an awful boyfriend." "No you aren't, Peter. We all say things or do things that are awful when we are mad. But that's how we learn by them." "I haven't. I choked her before. I hate myself so much." "Peter, listen to me. Don't beat yourself up about this. You know what you do?" "What?" "You sing to her. Sing 'It Will Rain." "Do you think that will work?" I asked. "You never know unless you try." "Thanks Eric." I let go of him and ran upstairs. I grabbed my guitar and ran downstairs. "See you later," I said as I ran out the door. I drove to Dakota's apartment. I stood at her door. I picked up my guitar and strummed the cords. I began playing the chorus of It Will Rain. "Cause there'll be no sunlight, if I lose you baby. There'll be no clear skies, if I lose you baby. Just like the clouds my eyes will do the same if you walk away. Everyday it will rain, rain, raiiiin," I sang. I waited few minutes. She haven't opened up the door. "I should've bought you flowers, and held you hand. Should've given you all my hours when I had the chance. Take you to ever party cause all you wanted to do was dance. Now my baby's dancing, but she'd dancing with another man," I sang. Still nothing. "Talking to the moon, trynna get to you. In hopes your on the other side, talking to me too. Oh am I a fool who sits alone talking to the moon," I sang. Finally, she opened the door. "I'm so so so sorry I said those things to you. I mean it," I said. "Peter, we can't keep going back and forth. I love you but I'm getting tired of this." "Please Dakota. One more chance," I said, basically begging. "I don't know, Peter." "Dakota, you help me so much. Without you, my life would be a disaster." Dakota sighed and then smiled. "I can't stay mad at you. It's impossible." "So you're giving me another chance?" I asked. "Yes." "Thank you so much," I said, hugging her. "Come inside. We can watch a movie." "Okay." I let go of Dakota and we walked inside her apartment.
