"Whe...Where am I?"
"Rise and shine sleepy head." Pera was leaning on the cubicle door, lips forced into a tight scowl in an effort to look intimidating.
The all too familiar and distinct smell of disinfectant and air freshener filled Hadeya's nostrils. Was she in the toilets?
"Yeah, sorry about that. Wasn't much privacy in your office, especially with that 'best friend' of yours who certainly doesn't respect what boundaries are."
"Annabelle isn't my best friend." Hadeya retorted as she tried to adjust her sitting position. The toilet seat was cold and uncomfortable. Though she shouldn't have expected anything more. It was only a generic toilet seat.
"Well either way, her barging into your office wouldn't be good for the conversation we're about to have." Pera smirked.
Hadeya tried to scowl but instead grimaced as pain shot through her jaw.
"For goodness sake, did you have to punch me that hard?" She gingerly touched her jaw feeling for any broken bone and brushed her tongue over her teeth to feel for any chipped or damaged ones.
"I had to knock you out." Pera said without remorse.
Hadeya narrowed her eyes furiously.
"Why!? Last I remember I believe I was having a panic attack. I'm one hundred percent sure that's now how you handle it."
"Let me just say I'm not used to gentle and caring."
"Definitely can't argue with that. So what do you want from me?"
Pera didn't reply. Instead her head jerked to the cubicle door. Seconds later a pair of heels walked across the floor. Pera held a finger to her lips signalling for Hadeya to keep quiet.
Hadeya did the opposite. She unlocked the cubicle and hurriedly closed the door behind her. The woman who had entered the toilet looked at her curiously.
"Hi Fiona."
"Hi." Fiona answered warily. Hadeya walked up to the sink and washed her hands as if nothing was wrong. Taking a few paper towels to dry her hands as she walked out, she hoped locking Pera inside the toilet cubicle would give her enough time to escape.

Hadeya had figured the only way to keep ahead of Pera was to try her best not to think of a way to escape. That meant she'd have to do whatever her body willed her to do without thinking.
Unlocking the cubicle door and walking out had seemed a simple task but only because Pera had been leaning on the wall of the cubicle instead of right in front of the door. She could easily have stopped her, yes, but she was too preoccupied with the intruder that had entered the toilets.
Fiona must have thought her queer after their run in, still Hadeya didn't mind. She was just glad to be away from Pera.
She ought to go see Dr. Killian. Maybe he'd have answers for what was going on. Maybe her painkillers had hallucinatory side-effects. She'd insist he replace them with something less stronger; something that didn't make her mind go cuckoo.
She eyed her car as she approached it in the parking lot. Maybe it wouldn't be safe to drive, especially in her condition. It would be better to call a cab. As she was about to take out her phone from her purse she heard a scream. She froze. Was she now hearing things too?
