Blue Heart

Chapter 2

I rushed into the kitchen to check why she wasn't not responding to me.
I saw my grandmother was lying unconscious on the floor,the tray in which she was carrying muffins had fallen down and has created a mess on the floor.

I stood stupefied at that sight for a moment and then rushed towards her and held her in my arms,
"Hey!Granny!you ok!?"
I asked in hope of a response, but she remained silent and motionless.
I took a glass of water and sprinkled some water from it on her face. It didn't work out either.

Without wasting much time I called the ambulance immediately.

We reached the hospital where she was taken to the ICU.
Doctors took their time in scrutinising the case.After a few moments,the doctor came out of the room
I immediately rushed to him to ask what's the matter was,he replied by saying that my grandmother has got a heart attack.
I was really shocked at this response
"Is she fine now?" I asked anxiously.
"She's out of danger for now, but she is still unconscious,you can meet her after she regains her consciousness"
The doctor replied in a calm voice and left.

"I'm pretty sure grandmother never had any heart related issues in the past. How did this all happen?"
I kept asking myself.

I was sitting on a bench and waiting for my grandmother to regain her consciousness.

"Hey,Acira!" I suddenly heard a cheerful voice and instantly recognized it. It was my colleague,Stephen.

I looked in the direction of the voice, he was waving at me.

"Hey!" I said in an audible voice and waved lightly.

He came to me with a warm smile on his charming face and asked "What are you doing here,I thought you are not coming?!"

I suddenly realized that I was in the hospital where I was suppose to be today because our group had decided to organize a seminar here and I cancelled the plan of joining them because I've had decided to meet granny.I reached here anyway.

"Hey,you listening?" Stephen asked me again

" Oh,yeah..Uh,Actually my grandmother fell sick,so I gotta bring her here" I said in a voice full of anxiety.

The smile on his face suddenly started fading "Oh,What happened?"he asked.

"Doctors said, she had a heart attack" I replied.

"That's bad, how is she now?"He asked
"She's out of danger,that's what the doctor said, but still unconscious." I replied while looking in the direction of the room my grandmother was in.

"So you guys are here?" We both turned around to see our senior Mr. Ralph Wilson.

"Uh,yeah, Acira's grandmother is sick,she was just brought here and the doctors believe it's a myocardial infarction (heart attack)."Stephen replied.

"Oh,don't worry,Acira. I'm sure she's going to be fine" Ralph said in order to relieve me.
I just forced a smile, but didn't say anything.

Just a moment later,a nurse came out from the room and I heard the nurse screaming out for the doctor
"Hurry up! Someone call the doctor, the patient, sh-she is turning blue!hurry up, please!"
