We were leaving the hospital and were rushing towards the main exit.
Suddenly we crossed paths with Ralph.

"Hey,what happened? Where are you two going?" He asked us with a titchy spark of curiosity in his amber eyes.

"We are heading towards the lab.We have to figure out something of paramount importance to me." I replied to him.

He superficially scanned the box that I was carrying.

"Is it something regarding to what's inside that box?" He asked again, looking at the box.

I took a glimpse of the box myself and said
"Actually, we need to hasten,Ralph. I will give you complete details about what's it all about as soon as we figure out everything. Please, excuse us for now."

"Uh,...Yeah,sure!" He uttered in an uncertain tone and acquiesced us to depart.

Stephen and I continued walking until we crossed the main exit.

"You wait here,I'm going to bring my car over here and then we can advance to the lab." Stephen suggested.

I just nodded my head in agreement.

Soon I witnessed him rushing towards the parking lot.

I was waiting there when my eyes rolled into the direction where I noticed an old couple crossing the street with their hands clasped together.

I don't know why, but suddenly all the nostalgic memories of my grandparents started to unfurl in the back of my mind.
I remembered
How I used to play with my grandparents, they were way more closer to me than my parents,
How upset my grandmother was when she lost my grandfather and today I lost her myself.
I was getting lost in those old tarnished memories when I heard the beep of a horn from behind. I turned around and realised that Stephen has arrived already.

I turned to give one last glimpse to the couple and then,I got into the car.

We drove our way through and finally reached the lab.
I took a deep breath and clenched the box I was holding in my hands a bit more firmly.

We got out of the car and walked into the lab. Our lab is very well equipped with all the advanced technologies that helps us to carry out our experiments with precision.

As we landed inside the main room where we perform experiments, I kept the box safely on a table and started all the mandatory preparation required to test the blood sample.

We took precautions as we put on a lab coat and a jacket before getting started.

"You're ready?" Stephen interrogated.

"Yeah!" I replied with utter.calmness, and we started unboxing and examining the sample.

After the completion of the experiments the results were astonishing.

We discovered that the blood cells were anemic. Almost no haemoglobin in them and the thing which was even more astonishing is the presence of an unknown virus.

We were absolutely stupefied at this discovery. We just shared a blank glance.
