Chapter 4.

End of day:
I walk out the doors of our school. The rain is pounding down heavily. I so hope that dad has finished work so he can pick me up. A big grin spreads across my face as car lights flash my way and I look up to see dad in his work clothes. Just as I'm about to head to the car, a shoulder falls on my hand. I scream with shock.
"Woah sorry didn't mean to scare you!"
It's Max.
"Oh it's no problem!" My face flushes bright red.
"I was just wondering if maybe you'd like to hang out sometime with me and Harvey. It'd be nice to have some friends that aren't obsessed with us."
"Oh yeah sure. I totally understand!"
"Umm so can I have your number?" His face goes scarlet. He holds out his phone. I type my number into it and then hand him it back.
"See you tomorrow!" I can see he's trying so hard not to burst into tears of embarrassment so I put on a big smile.
"Yeah see you tomorrow. Bye Max."
We walk off in opposite directions. I head towards my dad who seems to be looking impatient. I open the door.
"What the bloody hell were you doing! I'm hungry!" His angry expression turns into laughter as he sees my shocked face.
"Only joking! Hop in and close the door I'm freezing!"
He can be a right idiot at times!
