The coldness of the swing reminded Rose that not only is she no longer welcome into her ex-boyfriends  hands but she wasn't welcome anywhere. The cold wind pushed her hair back from her face as if trying to comfort her. She felt alone, and she surely was. Her step dad that picked her up last time didn't even bother calling today at all. It seemed that he was busy.

~"Rose, listen. I have to leave for army.", the male eyes met the teenagers.
"But you can get killed!", she yelled, worry and hope of him staying shown in her eyes.
"Don't worry. I will come back."
"Do you promise?", there was a pause after the words were spoken before the grown male wrapped his hands around his daughter in a hug and answered with a very gentle voice.
"I promise to come back."~

Warm liquid rushed out feeling much hotter on her freezing cheeks. That memory hurt her and she didn't want to remember it.
"You know, you gave me a promise. You have never broken promises. But... You never came back... I...I... I promised myself to keep quite. I chose not to speak any more. Because....because.... words aren't always the once caring the meaning. And-"
"Ma'am." Suddenly a strange voice reached her ears and startled her. Suddenly she was afraid. Her head snapped up just to see an older man. His one eye having a patch over it as he looked at the teenager with the other. "I'm sorry to startle you. But... Do you need someone to listen?" His voice was low and a little out of tone. In a way it was calming mostly because it had a slight accent to it.
Once the man didn't hear a reply, he turn away. "Well, i'll leave you be. Sorry to bother. Have a-"
"No." The sudden word stopped the slow pace of the man.
"Excuse me?", the sharp tone made Rose feel uneasy. Her now stone felt like fingers from the cold mentioned the old man to come her way. The gesture was easily recognizable and the mans feet cared himself toward another swing next to the teens. "So, young lady, something bothering you?"
Her long hair bounced as she shook her head up and down, which showed that she agreed.
"And that is...?", pressured the man. The teen didn't reply for a bit, considering of she should tell a stranger or not.
"I-I just g-got hea-artbroken.", she stutter out, her eyes that have been giving out hot tears for a while now, jumped towards the face of the man before going back down and finding interest in the snow.
"I'm sorry to hear that.", his voice was smooth and a little raspy, yet still calming. There was a long silence and only the wind was braking it making it sound very empty and unimportant. "You know, who ever it was must have been blind, because you're a beauty." The silence was now broken because those words got the teenager crying even more.
"Tha-ats why he-e dated me. Because...of..my beauty. Bu-ut he co-ouldn't put up with my personality.", that surprised the old man. His facial expression changed suddenly as if someone have shot him.
"What even! That is wrong. He should have loved you for your personality and for your beauty. What an asshole.", Rose flinch.  Words were pronounced way too fast and way to defensive for her to feel comfortable. "I'm sorry, hun. All I am saying is that it was wrong of him.", she gave a nod. "You have a place to stay?"
"Ye-ea...But...i dont want to go.", she admitted. The old mans mouth curled into a nice smile, almost welcoming smile.
"Then I offer you to stay with me for a little bit."
"Parents?"
"I'm a teacher in this school, I reasure you they'll be okay with it. I'll warn them."

~"I'll warn you parents that you are out here. Don't worry."
They never did...~
