"Whoah. Looks even sketchier than I thought." I said, crossing my arms and looking at the house we were supposed to 'lay low' in for possibly the rest of our lives. It was a three story house with white siding and a black roof, with windows of all different shapes and sizes. The porch light was flickering rapidly between the off and on state, which under the shade of the night, made it look really sketchy.
"Hey. I guess who's providing you a house and provided transportation to the house?" Tyler asked.
"Will paid for the taxi, and had to pay extra 'cause this place is so discreet. And speaking of this place, Will's also paying for the rent to your uncle's friends's friend's cousin's friend's house." Jess said with an eyebrow raised.
"Hey!" Tyler yelled, although it didn't seem he could come up with a comeback, so instead, he was an idiot. "I took the liberty of stealing you all your own stuff before it was incinerated in the dorm room and packed it, and lastly its my uncle's friends's friend's cousin's house! My uncle's friends' friend's cousin doesn't have any friends!"
"Guys, lets just get inside and have a good nights sleep, that way in the morning a few of us can go shopping for some food and stuff." Kyle said, shooing them inside. After surveying the house, the living room, dining room, and kitchen were all on the the first floor, then the second floor contained three bedrooms and a small kitchenette. On the third, there was one bedroom and a large observatory that was strewn with papers and took up most of the third floor.
"Well, there are only four bedrooms, so either we're gonna have an uncomfortable night as in Kyle will have to sleep with Tyler and Will, along with me having to sleep with one of you which really isn't that different from the first option, or I can just take the couch and Kyle and Tyler can sleep on the two chairs in the living room." I said.
"I think I'll choose the last option." Jess said, shuddering.
"I'm going to predict that that option will be seconded, thirded, fourthed, fifthed, sixthed, and then seventhed, am I correct?" Will asked. This was overly agreed with, and we all collapsed in our respective bedding areas and slept like rocks.
...
When I woke up, I already heard arguing.
"Don't make me freaking come over there and poke you!" Eliana yelled.
"I swear to God if you do that, I'll kill you! Wait... crap." Tyler attempted to argue back. I walked over to the kitchen, where the verbal Armageddon was occurring and leaned against the door frame.
"Ya realize some people are trying to sleep here." Interrupted Eliana, Tyler, Jess, and Kyle arguing.
"Sorry, just some loser-" Jess glared over at Tyler when she said this, "Thinks I'm going out to get supplies."
"All of you are coming with me. Except Kyle, Will and you. I think you'll be a good team to defend the fort if our little buddies from 'The Dunes' decide to attack us again." I ordered. Jess and Kyle cheered.
"Well, remember those files we got from the principal's office? You guys are gonna hafta go through 'em, so don't be too happy." I said flatly.
"Who say's you get to make the rules?" Tyler asked.
"The one with the IQ level above ten." I shot back. "So get outside, I'm gonna go wake up Claudia on the third floor. It's a miracle she didn't get woken up, cause I'm pretty sure everyone else in a fifty mile radius was." I walked up the three flights of stairs and knocked on Claudia's door. She didn't respond, so I slowly opened the door, and there she was, sleeping in the most awkward position, looking actually kinda cute.
"Hey... Claud. We're heading out for supplies... wake up." I whispered in a soft voice.
"Hnnn? K-Kale!" Claudia first murmured, and then seemed to be scared that I was waking her up.
"Hey. Glad you're up quick. I'm not here to attack you obviously." I said, my hands up in a surrendering position.
"Kale! You're in my bedroom!" She whisper screamed.
"Yeah... I'm waking you up... ohhhh do you like to be alone when you wake up? Sorry." I said, dragging out that 'sorry' till I got to the door. "Be dressed and ready in about five." I said, pointing to an invisible watch and leaving her room. As soon as she was dressed, I used the phone Tyler had left for me in my little bag of supplies to call a taxi service to the nearest down. We bought all sorts of things and managed to afford for seven people's worth of stuff for a week with Will's 13th trust fund. Then, my phone buzzed. It was Jess.
"Hello? Jess?" I asked.
"Kale. Get your butt back here. We uncovered some deep crap on the Academy." Jess said, hanging up immediately.
