Wshhhh! The sand kicked up all around us and we jumped into the eye of our little sand tornado.
"Will. Once you get close enough to the facility to scan it, do it right away. Don't leave any stone, no matter how small, unturned. We need to know just about what kind of deep crap we're getting into." I said.
"You got it. We're getting close enough really quickly. I should be able to fill you in on it in about 10 feet or so." He said. We were about 50 feet away from the facility when Will got our attention.
"Guys. I've scanned about the entire half of the base that we're on thoroughly. It appears there is a perimeter defense system, so if we break or damage the outer walls, we'll set off an alarm system that will notify everyone in there. Including the possibly ultra strong Neuropsionists we're here to stop. The best idea would be to still break through the wall and instead of stealthing our way in like normal. This is the route with the highest percentage of success, 17%." Will noted. After that last sentence, everyone went a little quiet and all you could hear were the rocks clanging together in the fake dust storm Claudia was keeping up.
"Furthermore," Will continued his analysis. "If we bust in through a weak point in the wall, with no guards in the near vicinity, then our chance of survival is upped by around 7%. After breaking through the weak point that I have already located, we will need to turn the corner, take down around five guards, and take a left up a staircase, which is the shortest and safest route to a main room. This room seems to have a large control panel with four seats. These four seats I am assuming will be the thrones of the original Neuropsionists, which will still be sitting down regardless of the alarms because the weapon is set to fire in around half an hour."
"Woah. That's a lot to take in." Tyler gasped.
'Well you'll have to take it in pretty quick, cause we're nearing the wall and I'm gonna be the one breaking and entering.' Leo said, stepping to the front of our mini sand-nado. Leo was right. We were closely approaching the large base's exterior. The wall was about five feet away and it seemed like Leo was already charging up a Cranial Burst.
"You guys ready for the ride of your lives?" Eliana asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Tyler said.
'Breaking the wall in three, two, one!' Leo said as he obliterated a hole in the wall. It seemed the sirens had already gone off before we had even broke the wall in. But I had to stay focused on Will's plan. I turned right and charged down the hallway. I could barely even hear the alarms blaring because my ears were still ringing from the Cranial Burst. I saw five figures in the distance of the tunnel and realized they were the guards that Will was talking about. I summoned a volley of Helical Bullets and took two of them out. Only problem was, that left three guards that I was going to physically run into. Then I heard a yell of strain from behind me and the walls around the guards were crumpled like a soda can and then reformed back to normal.
"Woah. Claudia. Chill out. I- We can not afford to lose you." I warned.
"I'm fine. She replied, visibly sweating and panting. I knew it was a lie, but I knew she was tough. Plus, we didn't have any time to rest. We had already spent ten minutes, which meant the weapon was going to fire in 20. On top of all of that, the staircase was coming up. Yeah. The staircase. The one that led to the control room. As we turned the corner, the small tunnel opened up into a huge expansive room. It had a door right across from us, all the way across the huge room. To the left of us was a titanic monitor that was currently blaring red with the message WARNING! To the right were two sets of large stairs leading up to a giant control panel. In front of the control panel was a giant window overlooking the weapon and everybody working on it.
Then, my eyes drifted to in front of the panel. It was four high tech-looking people in swiveling white chairs. They were working tediously, making the sound of their computer keys sound more like a rapid machine gun's fire. They all looked extremely focused and shockingly in sync until one of the people stopped typing.
"The six Neuropsionists are here. Just as I predicted. I think you should have more trust in me, Star Admiral One."
