"Hahahahaha..." A voice from behind us laughed. One of the workers. He slowly turned around with his hands up. "You're those extremely powerful infiltrators? I was honestly expecting you guys to be either something a lot bigger or non existent when I heard the rumors. But I didn't think you would be stupid enough to think Experiment 96 was run on energy."\
"What? Why aren't you hypnotized?" Claudia asked. "And if it isn't powered on energy, what's it powered on?"
"And what the heck even is experiment 96?" Tyler asked aggresively.
"Who's sayin' I'm gonna tell ya?" The worker spat. "I'm obviously not on the same side as you."
"I don't think you're in the position to say that. Its seven versus a measly worker like you." Jess said flatly.
"Plus, you don't have powers." Eliana added. He just chuckled at that last part.
"Ummm, you might wanna hold off on that call of him not having powers. His brain seems to be rewired, just like the testing machine does. He does have powers, but they are at most a level one or two. Although take that with a grain of salt, I could be wrong." Will said.
"Check again, weak defender." The worker tried to get under Will's skin. "I'm a level three. I've been undercover acting like one of these helpless idiots just to be able to defend the generator when it is attacked."
"Well what are you idiots waiting for? Attack him at least!" Jess yelled. Will popped a transparent green turtle shell around us for defense and we charged. I leaped, ready to summon some light bullets to take him down, but when I fired them they just clanged off the floor.
"You should've really analyzed the actual powers I had, rather than just scanning for whether I had them or not." He sarcastically pointed out. I knew immediately what his power was. He could faze into walls. I thought pure speed would be able to take him out, so I summoned a blade and bolted in his direction. He just sunk into the ground and appeared at the doorway. By this time, Claudia and Leo had given up on hypnotizing the workers, so they literally made them all walk out of the room and dog pile on each other. They could now have their full focus on our foe.
'Get him outside!' Leo yelled.
"Why?" Tyler asked,
'Trust me, just get him out there.' He replied.
"So your lousy job is to kill us, just because we know all of the secret info about Experiment 96?" I lied.
"Wait, what do you know?" He asked, taking the bait.
"Guys, run!" I said, acting as if he caught us, this precious information would fall into the wrong hands. We all ran as fast as we could to the elevator.
Along the way, Eliana whispered, "I know what your plan is here, and I love it." We jumped into the elevator and hit the up button as, once again, we were greeted by the creaks and groans of the age old machine. Once we got to the top, we met our friend at the top, who had simply fazed through the ground between the generator and the ground. He was chuckling, even though he didn't realize he had just led himself to his own demise.
"Send him on up, Leo." I said, and even in my unclearness, he got what I meant. he performed Cranial Burst and sent the worker flying up in the air.
"Nothing to faze into up there, huh?" I asked sarcastically. "Will, cushion his fall, but make sure he at least breaks a kneecap or something."
"Okay." He said, forming a glowing green platform that didn't look too soft. Crk! He landed on the platform and started writhing in pain. He didn't seem to be in any shape to faze through anything.
"So, you gonna tell us what Experiment 96 is and what powers it?" Jess snapped.
"Grrrr... O-kay... Experiment 96 is, in short, a doomsday weapon. Only people working for us will survive in the fallout bunker we have below the primary base. The top brass believed the world cheated them and that it needs to pay. The bad thing is, it's fuel is really expensive." He said through gasps of air and groans in pain.
"Jess, start healing this trash, He's gonna die." I said.
"Awww, do I have to?" Jess complained, walking over to his leg that he'd injured after his fall.
His voice seemed to be less wheezy. "The fuel is a special liquid. Something like Solution 4O96B or other. It's a special fluid located inside the brain after you are tested on. It slowly builds up over time, and most people have the maximum amount by 14 or 15. So, basically, Experiment 96 is fueled by Neropsionists."
