Jace sat at the table coolly leaning against the seat. To anyone else he may look carefree, unconcerned even but inside his mind was in turmoil. He still had about half an hour until Jocelyn showed up. He needed to get his thoughts straight by then.

He knew that if anyone could prevent Clary and Alec from getting married, it was Jocelyn. All he had to do was tell her the truth, that it had all been just a spell. She would not blame him, his Clary wouldn't be married off to his parabatai and his heart would eventually heal. But could he tell her?

Would Clary ever forgive him for snitching on her behind her back? He drew in a deep breath. He remembered that day in the demon realm when they had finally slept together for the first time. He thought back on all their whispered promises, their vows to each other. It all felt like a lifetime ago. He truly loved her with all his heart. Did he have it in him to just let her go? He didn't know himself.

One thing was for certain, if he snitched and stopped her wedding before the potion wore off, he would lose her trust. He didn't know if he could do that to her. But would he rather have her hate him and be single than treat him as just a friend and love his parabatai, his other half? He felt like pulling his hair out. He sighed softly.

Just then, the door opened and Jocelyn walked in. She was dressed in jeans and a plain red shirt. She sat opposite him, studying him closely. He smoothed all expression from his face and regarded her neutrally. "Hello, Jocelyn. Is this important?" He wondered how long it would take before his facade cracked and he spilled everything. It was only a matter of time.

Alec's P.O.V

Alec sat on the cushioned windowsill of his room gazing out of the window. He watched Clary and Izzy train in the yard. She had called him to join her, but he told her he was not feeling up to it. She wasn't happy, but pressed a kiss to his lilps before leaving anyway. Now he watched as Izzy attempted to tackle her to the ground.

A smile tugged at his lips as he watched Clary try to shove Izzy away. He had to admit her fighting skills had definitely improved tremendously. He wanted to be there with her, to train with her but for some reason he felt uneasy. He sighed and leaned back against the cushion, stretching his long legs.

He couldn't believe that in a few months time, he would be married. Before this, when he imagined his wedding it had been with Magnus. Memories of their first date and kiss flitted through his mind. He felt a pang as he recalled them, as though he had lost a treasured friend. "Wait a minute, wheres your head at Alec." He muttered, swinging his legs off the windowsill. He decided something. He would go pay Magnus a visit. Clary was the one he wanted now. He just had to close his relstionship with the warlock once for all.

Sooner than he would have liked, he found himself at the warlock's front door. He knocked on the door. It was a few minutes before the warlock opened it.

"Alec." He breathed out. He was dressed in what was his usual pyjamas; silky pants and no shirt. "What are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you. It can't wait." He said firmly. Magnus stepped back to let him in. The flat smelled of lapsang souchang tea and magic. Utterly familiar. He squashed all those memories and sat on the sofa. Magnus took a seat opposite him.

"And what do i owe this pleasure? Came to discuss wedding preparations?" He asked coldly. The bewildered expression he had when he opened the door was gone, replaced by a calm yet unfriendly demeanor.

"Magnus, i need to..... close this. I don't know if i can leave it hanging.

"Close this? Close what exactly?"

Alec took a deep breath. "I know we've been through so much, and i learned so much about you that you haven't shown anyone else. I want you to know that while i can remember my love for you, its just..... not there anymore." He met Magnus's eyes. "Everytime i close my eyes, i see Clary. I know it isn't fair to you, after all we went through, but its just.... like that." He finished somewhat lamely.

Magnus just regarded him with unfathomable cats eyes. "I was scared of this. This is my fault. I shouldn't have suggested a break." He sighed running his fingers through his spiky hair. "I needed to know if i could strengthen our relationship. I never expected us to end up like this" Suddenly Magnus tensed, as he usually did when he revealed too much about his feelings.

Alec got to his feet. "Then this is goodbye. I still see you as a friend. More than a friend even. But its just.... fading. Everyday my feelings for you grow fainter and fainter."

Magnus stood as well. He couldn't quite hide his sadness. "I know. I can't even be angry at you for it. All this years i thought i had grown so distant from humanity that i was incapable of love. I met you and i thought that would change." He let out a mirthless laugh. "Penderitaan cinta yang tidak dibalas."

"What does that mean?"

"It doesn't matter anymore." He led Alec to the door. "Nevertheless i wish you all the best. I could never hope for your unhapiness, Alexander."

Alec turned back to survey the loft one more time, breathing in its scent. He doubt he would come back soon. "Goodbye Magnus." He looked at Magnus with his deep blue eyes. "Thank you for everything."

Magnus nodded. He watched as Alec descended the stairs and left. He leaned against the doorframe, and closed his eyes briefly. "Aku cinta kamu."

He returned to his flat with a the feeling he was so used to over his long life. The feeling of heartbreak.

A/N: Hi guys. In case anyones wondering, penderitaan cinta yang tidak dibalas means the suffering of a unreturned love and aku cinta kamu means i love you. I really wanted Magnus to say something in Bahasa because he only uses it when he really means something. Also i decided to put the meaning because google translate will give you shitty answers. 😅😉😉
