Chapter Six
Oriphiel was struggling to get the image of the beautiful demon out of his head. Wherever he went, he seemed to see her haunting face pop up in a crowd. Even in Heaven, some of the angels began to look like her.
"What is wrong with you, Riph? You've been acting even crazier than usual for the past week." Barakiel asked, his voice edged with annoyance and confusion. Oriphiel glared at him. He and Barakiel had always been close and he valued his opinion on pretty much everything, but he would NOT tell him about the demon.
"I don't know what you're talking about." He said, his voice light hearted, sounding normal to anyone else but Barakiel. But he wasn't normal. Something was bothering him and he was truly at a loss for a solution. He needed to see her again.
"I don't buy that. I've been your best friend since creation, I think I can tell when you're lying to my face." He said bluntly. He was getting angry now. Barakiel wasn't used to Oriphiel hiding things from him. He had always been proud to be the one that Oriphiel, the leader of The Fighters, went to when he was upset.
"Well, I don't know what to tell you... I'm fine." The words had just left Oriphiel's mouth when an idea came to him. "Do you have the list of the new demons and their assignments?"
Barakiel snorted, thinking that he was joking. "Not on me... I'm sure you could find it in the Hall of the Damned."
The gears in Oriphiel's mind were going at full speed. He would soon be on a hunt for the demon girl that was haunting his dreams.

Adriel was overwhelmed by the smell of smoke and sweat as they entered "Naughty Chix", the strip club where she was supposedly employed. Her eyes adjusted to the dim light, allowing her to take in her surroundings...They disgusted her.
"Come on, Duke's not gonna be happy. Let's just get it over with so we can actually make some money." The petite blond, whose name she still didn't know, dragged her through the club to a back door that led to a spacious dressing room. There, she saw about twenty girls wearing barely anything and a man that made Adriel's blood curdle. She could smell the evil that was practically spilling out of him.
"Well, well, well... Y'all finally decided to show up." His voice was deep, also plagued by an unnecessarily thick southern accent. He stepped toward them, his arms crossed over his chest and a wicked grin on his face. "Well, Lyla... Destiny... Can you explain to me WHY YOU ARE FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE!?!" The sudden change of his tone startled Adriel, causing her to stumble back a step. She was surprised to see his face turning an unpleasant shade of red. His face was shriveled up as he stared at the two, as if he was trying to cause them pain through his eyes.
"I'm sorry, err... Duke? Um, it's not Destiny's fault it's mine." Adriel said quietly, trying to act like she was truly afraid of him. In reality, she could snap him like a twig if he so much as laid a hand on her. But, she had a weapon that would come out as a win win for the both of them. She was going to compel him.
