"Oh, for fucks sake!" A groan leaves my lips as I lean my head against the steering wheel. "How the hell did you even get your license?" I continue to complain to myself about the kid in front of me who keeps wanting to stop at every little pebble he has to drive over. "Diving over the little ass rocks is not going to kill you!"
Looking to my left another groan escapes past my lips. My eyes flicker over the small cracks in my trucks window, caused by some kids messing around outside my work about an hour ago.
Today has not been my day.
First, I wake up with a massive headache. Of course, it's no ones fault but mine considering I'm the one who decided it was a good idea to get wasted the night before I had to go to work at seven in the morning.
Second, some kids were throwing rocks outside my work, which was at a local music shop, and one hit my window. Luckily for me, it didn't break- all the way at least.
My hand finds the nob on my radio, turning the music up. If I'm going to be stuck behind this jackass for the next five miles, I at least want to listen to Mayday Parade while I drive.
Ten minutes later, I'm sitting in the schools parking lot, waiting to pick up Calum's little sister and her red-headed friend because he didn't want them walking home in the rain.
"Hey, Luke. Have you left work yet?" I hear my long time friend speak through the phone.
"No, I'm just about to clock out though, why?" My feet make their way over to the back of the store. I enter my pin number, before sliding my card though the machine.
"I need you to pick up Blake and Camila after school."
"No."
"Grow up and go pick them up. It's going to storm and I don't want to make them walk home in the rain."
"Why can't they just take Blake's car?"
"They can't take Blake's car because I have it. I had to use hers to get to work because I have a flat tire."
I close my eyes, letting out a sigh. I just wanted to go home and get some rest. "Does Blake even know you're asking me to do this?" I question. "Also, I don't see why Ash or Mike can't pick them up."
"Oh, shut up, I'm not asking Mike or Ash, I'm asking you." He lets out a quiet laugh. "and no, she doesn't, so don't be surprised if she isn't too pleased to see you."
She's never pleased to see me.
Before I could say anything the line goes dead.
"Fucking great." I mutter to myself.
I'm pulled from my thoughts by the sound of a knock on my car window. Looking over I see Camila and Blake waiting for me to unlock the door.
My hand leaves the wheel, and reaches over to unlock the door.
"Hey, Luke." Camila smiles, waving softly once she opens the door.
Before I could say anything a certain dark haired girl speaks. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Shut up," I murmur, looking over at the two. "Cal didn't want you two to walk home in the rain."
