Dancing With a Corundum

- Peridot's POV -

My Diamond has horrible taste in women.

I mean I wasn't expecting much, until Amethyst introduced me to a girl. She was absolutely beautiful. She had dark skin, and dark brown hair that someone could've easily mistaken for black. She wore a blue dress, speckled with glitter. Her crown was the most exquisite of all, threads of silver intertwined with sapphires and one Lapis Lazuli gem in the middle. From the blue colors, she's from Blue Diamond's court, and from her dark skin, she's a terraformer. I realize, she could be the beauty to my brains.

My Diamond has wonderful taste in women.

I stood from my seat, and felt my cheeks turn red as I took her hand. I started to feel dizzy and sick. I forgot that I didn't know how to dance, only until I stepped on her foot. The girl didn't even flinch, her gaze was directed somewhere else. She doesn't look like she wants to dance.

"What are you looking at?" I try to direct her attention to me, but she doesn't move her eyes.

"Nothing."

"It's physically impossible to look at nothing, you're always looking somewhere."

She chuckles, oh god I'm going to die,"Okay."

"So, what were you--oof, my apologies, I can't dance." I'm basically a human tomato.

"Really? I couldn't tell," she snaps.

Oh, now she's made me mad. "Not like you can do any better." I hide a smirk.

She's quiet now, but she turns her gaze to me. I've never seen the ocean, but when I look into her eyes take me there. I feel like I'm going to pass out. "I was listening to your speech."

"Y-Yes?"

"What do you plan to do about witches?"

Before I have time to respond, something hits my head, and everything goes dark.

For a while.

The next time I wake up, I'm in some sort of truck, wearing a long shirt that looks like a potato sack over leather pants. I feel cold metal around my arms.

I hear singing, but I can't see, my glasses are missing.
