Little fingers began pushing the skin around on Beyoncé's face as she slept. The little boy's pale fingers and dirty nails continued to wind themselves in the hair atop her head and the warmth of her bright cheeks before her felt her larger hands clasp around his hand hold them in place. Oliver paused, wondering if he had woken her up and laughed a little as she opened one eye and looked up at him. It was very early in the morning, around 4am, and Beyoncé hated to be woken up so early but she knew Oliver didn't get much sleep around this time. This was when the animals awake and so this was when he was awake. He smiled up at him brightly before wrapping her arms around his small body- much smaller than it should be for a boy his age- and pulled him down on to her feeling his cold skin against her body. Oliver, as usual, was wearing some shorts and that was it but she didn't mind because she wouldn't want him to be any more uncomfortable that he already was by being trapped in this lab the way she was.

"You should get back to sleep" She whispered to him in a raspy voice, he pulled himself under the covers and wrapped his arms around her body resting on her chest looking up at her with his blue eyes. He grunted at her, probably a way of saying that he wasn't tired, so she began stroking her fingers through his hair and swaying side to side with him on her. "Well, I guess neither of us are getting any sleep then, little monkey." She giggled as Olly grinned at the word and tucked his head into her neck.

"Mo-key" He said. She widened her eyes and then looked down at him with a bright gleam.

"What did you say?" Beyoncé had never heard Oliver actually say a word before and even if it was broken she didn't care because it was his first proper word and she couldn't be any more proud of him. She continued to smiled at him when he got shy and laid back down turning his head in the opposite direction to her but  she began tickling him and demanding he look at her, "Olly! Olly say it again." She laughed loudly and he laughed too as he crawled from her arms and sat up on the bed,

"Mon-e-key" He said with a little more confidence, she squealed and pulled him into her again whispering how proud she was into his ear and holding him against her chest once again.

"Well, little monkey, I think we should celebrate." She said to him, "Do you want to see some magic?" She asked him, he nodded his head fast and then she climbed out of bed holding on to his hand and made her way down the hall and to her bedroom door which Olly had left open. "Oy you, I've told you a million times to close the door." She actually didn't understand why he was so obsessed with joining her in the morning but she guessed he had no one else so she couldn't complain. As she went to walk out of the door she heard the patter of paws behind her and soon Darwin jumped up onto her shoulder not wanting to get left behind. "The gangs back together." She whispered before walking out of the room. As they walked down the hall they heard a few cleaners and a few scientists arriving as they did every morning until she made it to the elevator and got inside with Olly holding on to her hand but looking up at Darwin pulling funny faces at him. "WIll you stop that, he only just woke up." She took Darwin down from her shoulder and stroked him in her arms, "He can be sensitive in the morning." She defended. Olly chuckled and she laughed a little before they got out of the elevator and walked toward the room right at the end of the 7th floor. Once she pushed the door open Olly ran in with a wide grin and she placed Darwin back onto her shoulder. "Are you ready?" She asked Olly who nodded his head and she reached over to the light switch and turned it on.

Once the lights were on Olly's eyes landed on the strung lanterns above him and the colourful bean bags on the carpeted floor. It was a room no one had used since the day she arrived and a room she had fallen in love with.

Upon her arrival they gave her a list of places in the lab she wan't allowed to go, they were very strict for a long time and she stumbled across an empty room on the 7th floor where she hoped to find a sanctuary they'd never find her in. Then she got Bruce to help her fix it up just a bit and now she had her own little cave they didn't know existed. It was one of the only secrets she had. They didn't restrict her from going anywhere in the labs now, of course they didn't want her to go around telling everyone why she was there, but she knew that there were floors she liked to stay clear of because of the animal testing and such.
