It was a full moon that night, almost completely white in colour while the sky had adopted an almost black blue. The occasional spec of white of the stars was what she loved the most though. They were so small and elegant, she knew they were just burning balls of gas but that didn't take away from how whimsical thy seemed. She wanted to reach out and touch them but she couldn't. Instead, her slender fingers lifted and touched the glass of the window. Sitting on the windowsill, Beyoncé leaned her head back against the wall and continued to look out at the town below. The road was empty, the entire place seemed so empty and lifeless it almost scared her.  She turned her head and looked at the digital clock on the bed side table: 2:49am. She hadn't slept. She had fooled Shawn into thinking she had fallen asleep before she climbed out of bed and sat by the window for a while. In this time she had cleaned the house, organised all of Blue's things because baby things get so messy so easily, pumped her breasts and composed the coda for her piece of music. Then, she went back over to the window. Shawn didn't wake up, Blue woke up a few times but was lucky that her mother knew when she was about to cry so got to her before Shawn's sleep was disturbed. Blue didn't cry over much, she cried when she needed changing and when she was hungry but she quickly learned that simply crying for a bit of attention wasn't going to work so she didn't do it. If she woke up and didn't need anything in particular she would usually just lay there until she fell back to sleep. Beyoncé loved that about her, she was such an easy baby compared to most. She was awake right now so Beyoncé looked over at her and saw the baby laying on her stomach with her head turned so that she was looking at her mother. Why are you not sleeping? Beyoncé asked her daughter. That was another thing, they didn't need to talk out loud so once again she didn't risk waking Shawn up. Blue didn't reply, she couldn't, instead she made one of her little noises and kicked her legs awkwardly. Beyoncé chuckled and walked over to the baby before lifting her into her arms and humming, mentally, a soft song to her. Blue fell asleep again after half an hour of bouncing up and down and humming so Beyoncé walked back over to the window and sat again. She had been sitting, thinking about nothing, for around 10 minutes before she saw a dark car pull up across the street. She lifted her head a little to get a better view of the person before she saw them step out and look around. She quickly jumped down from the window and stood behind the curtain not wanting to draw any attention to herself. Closing her eyes and listening closely she wanted to find out who this person was and why the'd be driving into such a small town at this time. She listened but they were too far away. She gave in, assuming that she was too tired to be able to use her abilities and sat down on the floor leaning her head back on the wall.

She stared at Shawn and sighed. There were many things that he just didn't understand and if he did then maybe he wouldn't agree with Marley so often. He didn't have the option of reading someone's mind and if he did she was sure he would have done the same. Shawn was a logical thinker and she was an emotional thinker. He would say: We cannot control how other people feel, it is not our place to tell Marley who she may and may not want to have coitus with and if she poses a threat we can trust Marley to be the first person to see this and dispose of her. On the other hand Beyoncé would say: I am scared that this woman is using my sister,  I wish I could believe that she is no threat but I feel she is, and, Love blinds people so Marley may not be able to see what I have already seen. Yes Shawn made logical sense but that was not the point, the point was that they had to do whatever they could to protect their daughter and simply assuming that Marley was as logical as he was not reliable.

She looked up at him and saw his features cast shadows over his face. She thought he was so beautiful, he was so funny and nice and talented and had done so much for her and yet he always chose the side of her sister. They were In love and happy and blessed and still he chose the side of her sister in every argument! Did her abilities cause such a rift between them? Was there no way that he could ever understand why she did anything? Did her abilities differentiate them so far that he just didn't understand her. He loved her but did he understand her? She got up and walked over to him before shaking him out of his sleep.
