"KYLE LOOK OUT!" I shouted, pointing at the oncoming fireball.

    "Woah!" Kyle yelled.

Kyle swerved the car sharply to try and avoid the fireball. All of us hung on to whatever we could as he drove. Fireball after fireball came hurtling towards our car as Kyle did his best in dodging them all.

Then I saw it. A fireball dead and center, coming right for the car. There was no possible way for us to swerve past it. We were toast!

    "Everybody duck!!" I ordered.

All four of us ducked down. Jen let out a cry of fear as she did so. I braced myself for impact of the fireball that was going to completely roast us all, mentally saying my goodbyes in my head.

But nothing ever hit us.

I looked up from my curled up ball of myself. There were no fireballs in sight. Just the trees and a gentle wind now. The other three came out of hiding as well.

    "Are we safe?" Ryan asked.

    "I think so." I answered.

    "What was that?!" Jen whimpered.

"I have no idea, let's just keep going. The farther away from this area we get, the happier I'll be." I stated.

"Agreed." Kyle said, beginning to drive again.

We drove in silence for maybe a minute. We came out of the trees then.

That's when I saw a monster! A huge green monster with sharp claws loomed over the car on the side of the road, its red eyes glaring at us and its mouth opened wide to swallow the car and us up whole.

"AAAH!" I screamed. I pointed up at it.

Kyle snapped his head up, spying the beast and jerked the car to the side. This maneuver made us spin out, right underneath the gaping mouth of the hideous green creature.

We were dead, I thought. We were going to be eaten whole and then burned alive by this thing's stomach acid.

But again, nothing happened.

"Rebecca relax, it's just a billboard!" Ryan laughed. Jen panted for air in the seat next to him. I guess my scream had really freaked her out.

"What?!" I remarked, looking out of my window at the beast.

Ryan was right. The disgusting green monster with red eyes, big horns, sharp claws and teeth I had seen was in fact part of a giant billboard.

'Welcome to Horrorland! 1 mile South -->' The billboard read in big red letters.

Horrorland? That's where we needed to go! We had made it!

"It's Horrorland! Let's go Kyle, drive that way!" I pointed.

I didn't have to tell him twice. Kyle started driving once more and took off in the direction the billboard pointed. The four of us laughed and cheered excitedly. We were finally there!

A few minutes later, we passed the big cobblestone gates of Horrorland. Huge menacing gargoyles loomed over us on either side as the car pulled past. This road led straight into the parking lot, Kyle pulled the car into it and found a spot quickly. The lot was relatively empty for it being almost noon. I didn't say anything about it, nor did I worry about it, I think we were all a bit too eager to get out and start our day in the park to think about anything else.

All of us clambered out of the car and began running towards the main gate, admission booths could be seen just past it. Running through the iron gates I saw a sign made out of green wood with bright yellow lettering painted onto it.
