The four of us darted from the prison, leaving Tenzin on the floor unconscious. We entered the main hallway and quietly made our way to the front room. The Horror guarding the front door was slumped against the wall, sleeping. Good. Creeping past him, the group tiptoed out the door and into the crisp damp night.
The full moon was beginning to lower in the sky, signaling that dawn was about an our or two away. We had to hurry.
The four of us began to walk to the side of the mansion, avoiding the many puddles that the storm had created. When we got to the corner of the house, Jen turned to me.
"So what's the plan?" She asked.
"We stick to the woods surrounding this place, maybe we can find a weak spot in the fence somewhere. If not, we'll just have to dig underneath it." I told.
The other three nodded in agreement to the plan and we were about to head out when we heard an awful sound.
A growl. From above us.
Looking up, my friends and I were terrified to find Will Blake perched on the top of the mansion, snarling down at us with his glowing eyes and foaming mouth.
"Just where do you think you're going?" He growled. Will then lifted his head high into the air and let out an alerting loud howl.
Several lights began to turn on inside the mansion. The monsters were waking up! The whole park must have just woken up! Will was their emergency signal! Shit!
"Oh no, go guys, run!" I yelled, beginning to take off into the mass of trees.
"You can't escape me!" Will bellowed as he jumped off of the roof and onto the ground, starting to chase after us.
We sprinted through the woods, barreling through the branches. Just trying to get away from Will....but he was hot on our tails, growling, barking and howling as he raced to catch us. He was getting closer behind us when I remembered.
My silver necklace! It beat Hannah, and it could beat Will now! Slipping it out of my jean's pocket, I stopped and whipped around, Will charging right for me.
"Rebecca!" The others shouted.
Will lunged at me and that's when I lobbed my necklace right at him. It went into his gaping mouth and shot down into his throat, making him yelp and fall to the ground.
I stepped back as Will landed right in front of me, clutching his throat. He began to screech out in pain as the silver was hurting him. Will choked and coughed until he began to transform back into his human self. My friends and I took this moment to make a run for it, continuing through the woods.
We slowed our running pace to a jog after making it a good distance away from Will. I think we could all bet that we were safe from him now. But to be safe, we broke the treeline of the woods and re-entered the park area, into the entrance of Vampire Village near the witches caravan. We crossed to the other woodland thicket on that side. But first, we had to go through a corn maze that was out past the cottage.....
My friends and I cautiously stepped through the maze, watching our every turn. Why did this have to be the only way into the woods? After awhile, Ryan spoke up.
"It's starting to get into early morning." He informed.
"How can you tell? I always know it's early morning if I hear birds chirping." Kyle responded.
"It's getting to be that time when the birds should wake up and start chirping." Ryan said.
"I don't hear any?" Jen answered.
