"JEN!" Ryan screamed. We all ran to help her, the hand had a firm vice grip on her ankle.

"LET HER GO!" I demanded, hitting the hand. The others did the same. This thing was strong!

We managed to pry the hand off of Jen's ankle now, the force we were using to yank her free sent us flying back into the dirt with a unanimous thud.

Meanwhile, the hand began to push up on the ground, lifting itself up from the earth. This made me see that it wasn't just a hand under the mud.

It was a person!

A second hand came up from the dirt and pushed with the first, making a gray porkpie hat visible with a head of dark blonde hair beneath it. Next, a face came into view: pale sickly gray skin, bright icy blue eyes, and a menacing sneer as they lifted their body out of the earth. They wore a gray jacket, plum t-shirt, dark jeans and black sneakers. It was a boy our age!

He was now fully above ground, covered in dirt. Observing him in all now, I noticed the thick dark circles around his eyes and on his right cheek there was a patch of ripped up skin, almost resembling bite marks.

Human bite marks.....It was some gnarly effects makeup; I was impressed.

The boy stood up and eyed all of us carefully, hungrily even. His sneer had turned into a sly smirk, devilishly spreading across his mouth. What did he want?

"Who are you?" I questioned cautiously. I noticed then that I had been shaking slightly with fear.

"I'm Ray. The Watcher of Horrorland." The boy introduced. "Who are you?"

"I'm Rebecca, and this is Jen, Kyle and Ryan...." I gestured.

Ray only nodded as a response, his smirk never fading.

"W-Why did you grab me?" Jen asked now.

"You were standing on my grave. That, and I'm very hungry......and you look like a sizeable meal...." Ray answered, studying Jen up and down.

Now Ray's expression darkened. His eyes narrowed with concentration, he licked his lips and began to slowly stalk towards Jen. She gasped sharply and started backing up as Ray got closer. My own eyes widened with fear.

He was going to eat her! But it was just an act right? It seemed so real to me, real enough that I had to act upon it and help Jen.

"No!" I screeched loudly, jumping in front of Jen, defending her from Ray, who stared into my soul with a menacing and cocky smirk.

Then, before anything else could happen, all of us heard a noise. My friends and I worriedly looked around us, Ray doing the same in a more nonchalant manner. It didn't take us long to figure out where the sound was coming from.

All around us, more sickly pale gray skinned people were climbing out of the dirt, each letting out their own distressed moans of hunger and anguish.

There was a girl our age with golden hair braided into pigtails and brown eyes, she wore a navy blue hat on her head as well. She was coming up from the grave of 'Karen Somerset'

Next, from the grave of 'Jerry Franklin', came a boy with light blonde hair tucked into a backwards baseball cap and green eyes. Next to his grave was 'George Carpenter': a boy with light brown hair with a front ways baseball cap on it and gray eyes.
