This is just a preview of my new story. <3 I am in love with it because of personal experience, with being a teen mom and whatnot. The dad is still in the picture, just not as much. It's hard to find someone who accepts that but there's someone for everyone! (:
That song is an amazing song by the talanted Sleeping With Sirens, it hurts my heart.
Well, this is sort of Array's song for her dad. There's some lyrics throughout the story, and I feel like its a good explanation for her feelings towards him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was it, the last straw. My dad lost his job, my mom is working extra overtime just make ends meet and we’re still barely eating every day. I had to get a job. I didn’t know it would be so hard or time consuming. I’ve never had a job and I although I tried…I never tried that hard.
“Hey chick.” My friend Parker came up to me and slung his arm around my shoulder.
“Hey man.” I said sadly.
“What’s up?” He asked and I shot him a look.
I hate when people ask what’s up when they already know.
“Okay the job! Relax. That’s what I wanted to tell you about.” He smiled at me and I lifted an eyebrow.
He’s probably going to tell me to be a prostitute.
“Go on…” I said skeptically.
“You know that guy Caspian?” I nodded everyone knew Caspian.
It was the classic teen mom story…except he was a dad. At least the girl had the common decency to have the baby and let him have it. She wanted nothing to do with it but Caspian did. He loves his son to death. I don’t know him personally but I’ve seen him around and heard stories. The baby’s mom doesn’t live here. She moved away almost immediately after she had the baby. Good riddance.
“Well, he needs a baby sitter and he’s willing to pay good, good money. He’s working at some law firm somehow and they’re paying him bank.” I know how, the kids goes to college, school, and takes care of his kid.
He’s super dad.
“So you think he will let me watch his kid? I barely know the guy.”
“He’s having interviews for a like nanny person. Just go talk to him about it.” Parker walked off and rubbed my head.
I shook my head at him and fixed my light brown hair. Fine, I’ll ask Caspian about the kid. I’ve never really liked kids. I haven’t been around them that much but I know they drool, poop, and be loud. I haven’t had the chance to actually see what babysitting is like. I went to class and did the usual, at lunch I looked for Caspian. He was with his friends and I sucked it up. I walked straight up to him and sat down.
“Hey Caspian…right?”
“Yeah and you’re Array.”
“I heard you were having interviews for a baby sitter. I kind of need a job so I was wondering if I could maybe get an interview.” I said cautiously. I wasn’t sure how to say it.
He smiled at me and then I actually looked at him, he’s really cute. Short dark brown hair that looks unbelievably soft, light blue eyes, a nice set of teeth, and well a great smile.
“Sure give me your number and I’ll call you and set up a time.” We exchanged numbers and I said thanks before meeting up with my friends.
My friends aren’t exactly popular or not popular. I guess we’re just average, whatever that is. There’s me, Cory, Preston, Tina, Clay, and Mira. I have more friends of course but these are the losers I hang out with all the time. My best friends are Mira and Preston but The Gang always has my back and I always have theirs.
