So I prepared a speech but as soon as I walked through the hospital doors I noticed hot doctor. I smiled at him and he walked up to me.
“Can’t say away can you?” He joked.
“I just came to see my dad.” I smiled back.
“Oh yes I’m taking care of him. You must be worried sick.”
“Over a stab wound? No. He’s a tough one.” I followed him.
“No his cancer is progressing, quite quickly too.”
My speech flew out of my head as I walked into the room. My dad looked sickly and I felt my heart break.
“I, uh…can we have a moment?” I asked and he smiled sympathetically.
“Of course.” He stepped out shutting the door behind him.
I walked up to my dad’s bed and pulled a chair next to him.
“Daddy, are you feeling okay?”
“I’m fine. I’ll be out of here in no time.” He smiled weakly at me.
“Are you taking any treatment? Chemo?” I asked worriedly.
“I don’t want that stuff. I just want you to be happy. I also want your forgiveness. I know I don’t deserve it. I should have tried to provide for you and mom instead of turning to alcohol. I want you guys to be secure but it looks like the job I got isn’t going to happen. They said they would take you on though only as a temp because the requirements are high. I told them I knew you could do it.”
“What? Daddy that’s great. What is it?” I held in tears and tried to be happy for myself.
But I was just sad that he never got the chance.
“Some law firm. They have another kid you age working there. Said he’ll be training you.” He was breathing heavily and looked tired.
“Okay sounds good.” I smiled through tears I didn’t know were there, “get some rest. I’ll visit you soon.” I kissed his cheek and walked into the bathroom.
I wiped my face quickly so I could walk out and not have a red face. I headed out the door and bumped into hot doctor.
“Never got your name.” I said casually walking down the hall. He caught up quickly.
“I’m Dr. Sage. Liam Sage.” He smiled at me and I returned it.
“Then you must know I’m Array Parkinson.”
“Of course. How could I forget?”
“Look I may be a little bit old for you but how about we go out and get some coffee sometime?” He asked me …on a date?
“Sounds great and I really want to but I think that’s illegal and I would hate to get you in trouble. Maybe in a couple years?” I smiled at him.
“Don’t forget about me.” He smiled and walked off.
I was so upset about my dad but flattered the doctor wanted to date me. How hot. I wish I didn’t care about the age difference. Ugh, my mom…she’s going to be so upset. She’s going to be so upset but then there’s my job…and what do I do about my old job? Just blow him off? I have to tell him in advance and that’s even if—
My thoughts were cut off by my phone going off. I answered it without looking because I was driving.
“Hello.”
“Really? When were you gonna tell me you got another job?!” Caspian shouted in my ear.
“Whoa, how did you know? I just found out.” I said calmly.
