I went home and started my work. I was behind so I would have to work all night. I stayed up until five and saw no point in going to sleep. I hopped in the shower then did my usual routine. Blow dry hair; throw on clothes, and now for makeup. I made my hair wavy and grabbed my back pack that was now full of homework and class work. Mira picked me up and didn’t say anything to me.

“Mira…do you like him?”

“Who?”

“Preston you dunce!” I said and she rolled her eyes.

“He likes you.”

“I don’t think I like him.” I replied and she glanced at me.

“Well…maybe I do.” She answered and I smiled.

“Good.”

The rest of the ride was filled with random talk about this and that. I remembered that it was my first day of work and I got excited. I don’t know if I would be able to keep up with the kid but it sure is exciting to be making money. I know probably more than half of my check is going to go to my mom but other than that I can save up for a car or try at least.

School went by slowly but I survived. I managed to get through two tests and I felt pretty good about them I guess that last minute work helped out. By the end of the day I was exhausted. I forgot I didn’t sleep last night. Mira was going to the hospital so I asked Fay for a ride to the gas station and then to Caspian’s place.

“Thanks Fay.” I said before getting out energy drink in hand.

“Need a ride home?”

“Nah I’ll walk.” I smiled at her and waved her off.

I knocked on the door and an older lady answered it. I assumed Caspian’s mom.

“Uh, is Caspian here?” I asked and she nodded letting me in. “I’m Array, the babysitter.” I said and she smiled.

“Good, good. Luis is playing in the room and I have an appointment. So I have to go. Caspian should be done in a minute so just tell him I left. Thank you dear.” She hugged me then left.

Wow, weird. I walked into Luis’s room and he didn’t notice me for a second but when he did he got excited.

“Awway!” He shouted and gave me a big hug.

“Luis. It’s been a while” I said hugging him back.

“Daddy told me you were in an assident.” I smiled at him.

“I’m fine just a little banged up.” I replied and he smiled back. “Go play. I’ll be here.”

Luis ran off and played. I walked back to the living room and sat on the couch unsure of what to do. Should I turn on the TV or something?

“Luis! Where’s grandma?” Caspian didn’t notice me yet and he walked into Luis’s room wearing just a towel.

Wow, that boy has a bod. He was toned, ripped, fit, any other word you can think of he was. He was also tan. He noticed me and caught me checking him out. I blushed and looked away quickly.

“Oh, uh, hey Array.” I glanced at him and he was blushing too.

“Uh your mom said she had to go to her appointment.” I said fidgeting with my hands.

“Okay…I’ll just get some clothes on.” He walked away and I stifled a laugh. That was embarrassing.

He walked back out wearing his work uniform and he had work boots in his hand. What I would do for that job. I sat awkwardly waiting for some sort of instructions.
