“Ray it’s been a while. Let’s hang out tonight.” She said and I nodded. My mouth was full of food.
“Where you been?” I asked when I swallowed.
“Um, just around meeting some guys. I have my eyes on Caspian.” She glanced at his table and waved at him.
He hesitantly waved back and I cracked a smile which everyone noticed.
“I don’t think he’s into redhead chicks.” Mira put in and I kicked her under the table.
Fay was gorgeous with dark red hair, green eyes, and a nice tan from being outside all the time. She used to be pale. She was like a classic Mary Jane before she left.
“I think he’s getting back with his ex Zoe.” I said and Fay rolled her eyes.
“Not if he goes out with me.”
“Or someone else.” Clay said and I held in a laugh.
“What is your guys’ problem?” She asked and everyone was silent.
“Nothing Fay. We’re just trying to joke around here. Preston just got out of the hospital.” Cory put in and he flashed a smile at her.
“I guess the jokes on me. Text you later Ray.” She walked away and when she was out of earshot we busted up laughing.
“Ray you should tell her.” Mira said after we calmed down.
“Tell her what? I have a mini crush on Caspian. No. It’s not worth it.” I stated.
“I don’t think it’s a mini crush. When’s the last time you admitted you liked someone? Like eighth grade.” Mira said and I smiled.
“Shut up. I don’t like anyone.” I said and everyone laughed at me.
“Caspian and Ray sitting in a tree.” Clay started.
“SHHH!” I whisper yelled.
Luckily the bell rang and I jumped up from the table. Mira walked me to class and we talked about everything. It’s been a while since girl time so we planned to go to a movie after I was done babysitting and have a slumber party. Stay up and watch scary movies, that kind of crap. After school Caspian took me to his place and we decided to do that every time I worked. It was easier.
“I have to get ready so can you make Luis a grilled cheese? My mom is going to be busy for two weeks so can you do lunch?” I smiled and nodded at him.
“Not a problem.” I went into the kitchen and started getting the stuff out of the fridge.
I felt someone behind me and I spun around. Caspian grabbed me and set me on the counter.
“Sorry.” He whispered before kissing me.
We started making out heavily. We were all over each other.
I pushed him away, “what…what was that?” I asked out of breath.
“I’m not sure. There’s an intense attraction here. I just felt like…I needed to do something.” I licked my lips and tasted him. Mint.
“I, uh, what about Zoe?” I bit my lip.
“Oh shit um, you know what I have a date with her on Saturday night can you watch Luis?” I almost pushed him away and stomped out but I stopped myself.
This is my job.
“Sure.” I smiled and pushed him away. “Luis will be awake soon. He’ll need some lunch.”
I finished the grilled cheese and set it on the table. I got his cup out and filled it up with juice.
“Thanks so much.” Caspian said and I felt like rolling my eyes.
