Since Til was thirteen, Luke wanted to bring him in and raise him. I didn't say no to that. I loved the idea. Luke has been helping LeClaire and his nieces and nephews with the funeral planning. I have been watching Bo and Tate while he has done that. I know this causes alot of stress. "Where's daddy?" Bo asked as I was making lunch for him and Tate.
"Remember Uncle Lee?" I asked. He nodded. "He went to heaven and daddy is helping your cousins and grandma." I told him the best I could. Luckily, he just nodded and went back to whatever he was doing. Once I finished making the mac and cheese, I put it on the table.
"Come eat your lunch, Bo." I called. He ran in from the playroom and sat down at the table. "I be right back. I am going to get your brother." I told him. Tate was upstairs taking a nap.I went upstairs into Tate's room and he was sitting up looking out of the crib.
"Hey pretty boy." I walked over and picked him up from the crib. I took him downstairs and put him in his high chair while I got his sippy cup filled with chocolate milk.
I then got a bowl of mac and cheese and put it on his plate. Tate was starting to grab a fork and feed himself, sometimes it got messy though.
I sat at the table with Bo and Tate while they ate. As I was talking to Bo and making sure he did eat, my phone rung. I got up and went and stood by the sink.
"Hello?" I picked up.
"Hey." It was Luke, he sounded exhausted.
"Everything okay?" I asked.
"We got the funeral planning done. The funeral will be Monday." Luke answered.
"Okay. How are the kids holding up?" I asked.
"Kris and Jordan are taking it pretty badly. Til, i know he is hurting but he isn't showing it." Luke explained.
"I think you should talk to him man to man to let him know it's okay to grieve. It isn't good to hold things in." I said.
"Yeah I know. Maybe we can talk to him tonight since I'm bring him home today. We still gotta get his room done and all." Luke replied.
"Yeah. I can help talk with him as well." I said, looking back at Bo and Tate to make sure they were okay.
"I'm coming home soon. I see you later. Love you." Luke said.
"Love you more."
------
Later that night when Bo and Tate were asleep, I was helping getting the guest room set up for Til. He was currently in the bathroom getting ready for bed. Luke and I were making sure the bed was nice and neat for him.
Til then walked into the room. "Til, have a seat, buddy." Luke patted the bed. Til walked over and sat between me and Luke.
"I know you are hurting. You can talk about it." Luke told him.
"I just don't want to talk about it." Til said.
"It's okay to grieve. It's not good to bundle up these feelings." I spoke. Til just sat there, playing with his hands. Luke wrapped his arm around Til's shoulder. Til looked down and he started crying.
"It just hurts." Til spoke.
"I know it does." Luke whispered.
We sat there while Til cried it out. That's what was best. At least he wasn't holding it all in. "I lost both parents. This is too much for me. I am only thirteen. I need my parents." Til cried. Luke pulled him into a hug. This made me wanna cry.
"Just stay strong."
