Shrieking sirens pierced your ears. Your eyelids felt heavy, but bright lights filtered through your eyelids in annoying glimpses. Red then blue and back again. The utters of voices around you echoed in your head, but you couldn't make out what they were saying.
"W-Wha-" You winced, through sore and raw. "Hurts..." You muttered. You tried to lift your arm but it was pinned at your side. "Can't...."
"Ma'am please stay down. You're severely hurt. We're contacting your family now."
"M-My family... no... don't tell them... they don't know..."
"Ma'am please, you're delusional. Just hang on a little longer. We're taking you to the hospital."
"No... please don't tell them. Please don't let them know I'm hurt. I can't... I can't deal with them... now..." You begged, head swaying gently as you tried to stay conscious.
"(Y/N)!" Someone cried. It was too mangled to recognize, but you couldn't lift yourself to see who it was.
"W-Who?" You muttered.
"Kid get off! We need to get her to the hospital!"
"Then stop worrying about getting him off and start driving." A more gruff voice barked. Something gripped your arm and you left warm liquid drip on to your arm.
"Please be okay..."
"Heart rate is elevated. Get her sedated now!" Another person snapped.
Your eyes closed as something snapped over your head. Black consumed your vision again and you were left to darkness and fear.

Slowly you blinked, the steady beep of a machine soothing your confused state. Your muscles felt stiff as you attempted to move, but found tight bandages restricting your movement. You groaned quietly, trying to clear your blurry vision. "Uhhhh...""She's up! Oh darling she's woken up come over here quick!" A sickeningly sweet tone sapped. A blob appeared before you and you tried to blink away the blurriness but failed. "Oh my sweet little girl. You don't know how happy I am to see you awake." She gushed, gripping your hand tightly.
Little girl? Only one person still called me that.
"Mother?" You asked cautiously.
"Oh yes my sweet little doll! Mommy is here and she isn't going anywhere!"

"Martha you need to relax!" A cold voice snapped. "You're just going to spike her heart rate again!"
"Well excuse me Edward if I'm actually concerned for my daughter's well being!"
"I'm just as worried as you are you old bag!"
"All you're worried about is your precious heir!" She snapped back.
You laughed in a shallow manner, turning your head away from the two and closing your eyes. "Always... fighting, huh?" You teased in an attempt to be playful. It was more literal than you intended to sound.
They both fell quiet and a curtain of silence dropped over the room. "What happened?" You rasped. "I remember... falling..."
"Oh dear! You fell from an old rotten tree house at the college dear! The doctors says you must have fallen on your leg and rolled into a tree. You have a nasty head injury to go with that broken limb of yours."
"B-Broken leg? Head injury?" You muttered.
"Dammit Martha! You weren't supposed to tell her that yet!"
