You faked a laugh and hung your head. "How'd I know you'd ask that?" You teased. "Must be clairvoyant."

Lifting your head, you watched the sky. The faint smell of damp earth tinted the air and you expected rain, but it wouldn't really matter. It helped the atmosphere. "Sans, you understand how humans are split over the arrival of monsters right now. Thankfully, most of them are positive about it, but truthfully their numbers are one good anti-under rally to tipping."

He nodded. "Of course. Even children have been keeping tabs on everything happening."

"Yeah." You cooed. "Well, it just happens that most of connections are to the not-so-approving part of my race. Dusty is an old... associate. I'm not sure if that's the right word. But his family and mine grew together and he's always been around. When we were younger, we were best friends. We played together often. We had the same babysitter when our parents went out. It wasn't all that bad. It wasn't until months back that he became like he was today."

Sans raised a 'brow,' was that the right term? "What happened to him?"

You ghosted a smile at the darkening sky. "Monsters."

Sans seemed to stiffen and you released a deep, ominous chuckle. "Yeah, shocker. He fell into the category of people that were afraid of monsters, thought y'all were intruding on human soil. It fractured our relationship, and when he found out I had become the human ambassador of peace, he loathed me. At first he wanted to exploit me into cramming monsters back Underground, but it didn't work. He failed to make me hate innocent people, and it turned into this bitter hate. He started calling me Gemini. He was always into astrology."

You paused and Sans took the opportunity. "If you don't mind, why Gemini? I mean, I can guess but..."

You waved it off and nodded. "No, I understand. He called me Gemini because I'm two faced. He said I was so into monsters I stopped being human and gave me that nickname. I guess it fits though."

"That's sick." Sans growled.

You laughed. "If you want sick you should see what's been grafittied on my old house. I'm glad I wasn't living there."

He was quiet and you sighed. Smiling at the sky, your gaze slid sideways at Sans. "Don't worry Sans. I chose to lead a race into a mess. Humans are cruel and selfish. We're afraid of things we don't understand and don't know that there's ways to deal with them that won't involve someone getting hurt. I was born into a race of fearful cowards. Can't help my genetics."

"Are you afraid?" He asked.

You laughed. "Of course I'm afraid. Just not of the monsters you're used to."

He fell quiet. You shook your head and stood. "Don't worry Smiley. It's part of the job to be callous to constant abuse that life throws at you. I've had years of experience. It's no use trying to change fates design. My only goal is to keep moving forward. Move forward and the consequences can't completely catch up."

You brushed your pants and smiled down at him. "Take my advice."

He seemed stunned by your passive tone. You turned and stepped away. Wet streamed don't your face and you looked up at the grey clouds. They swirled above you, moving fast across the vast sky. It wasn't raining yet.

You lifted your hand to your face and wiped away your tear. Meeting Toriel, you smiled gently. "Hey Tori? We should pack up soon. It'll rain."

"How do you know?" She asked.

"Look at the sky." You snickered.

Toriel's eyes lifted and fixed on the clouds. Her lips pursed and she sighed. "I see. We probably should have checked the forecast before having this unexpected picnic."
