"And in conclusion senator, the best way to go about the further integration of monsters into society is to begin with integrating the young generations of both species. Children, being naturally open minded, will grow into a more mature, and open society should they learn to treat monsters with the same respect they do with everyone else. If you'd like to examine my established negotiations further feel free to reference my reports. I'll be sending in the latest integration reports to Washington after class so you have until then to email me and suggest any changes."
The haggard old man, wispy hair barely enough to comb over his balding head, sighed and nodded. "Yes Ms. (L/N), I understand the routine. I'll be sure to get my editing team on this immediately."
"With all do respect, it would be best to get your opinion on it rather than your interns." You said, trying not to sounds snobbish.
He grunted in response, standing slowly and collecting his papers. You pasted on your best grin. "Well, have a nice day Mr. Franklin." You chimed.
By the look he gave you, you assumed he didn't wish the same for you. You quickly grabbed your things and rushed from the office, weaving through rows of desks to the exit then practically running to your car. You buckled in quickly, throwing your phone and documents to the side of the car and pulling from your parking spot. "Come on! I still got ten minutes!" You muttered, going as fast as legally possible back to the college dorms.
You raced into your dorm and glanced at your watch. Four minutes. "Frisk! Get together my chemistry textbooks!" You ordered. "Sans I need you to put my heels in the closet and grab my documents and phone from the car. I need to change."
They nodded in unison. After helping out the night prior, they'd showed up again in the morning to wake you up early and help you prepare for your progress meeting with Senator Franklin.
You quickly took down your hair and tied it loosely. Slipping on a comfortable pair of jeans and your favourite flannel, you shoved your feet in your Converse and exited the bathroom. One minute. You grabbed your textbooks and notebooks. After checking you had a pencil, you nodded and Sans grabbed your shoulder. You disappeared and reappeared in front of your building.
"Thanks Sans." You panted, running into the building. "Have fun at work!"
"Eh, it'll WORK out at the least."
You rolled your eyes, snickering. His image flickered then it was gone. You wasted no time getting into class and slid into your seat seconds before your professor arrived. She was a small, older woman. Highlights of her original hair colors popped through waves of gray, matching the thin frames over her eyes. Her face was only folded with crows feet and exaggerated smile linra. She wore a loose cardigan and a long skirt.
After attendance, you finally relaxed. Your heart still raced but your breath had returned to normal. You took your notes in silence as the professor delved into another lecture. Your thoughts were consumed in her words as she trailed from defining the basis of science to its role in even the most exact of studies.
"Now, I hope you've all been paying attention." She said.
Your ears perked to her usual 'pop quiz' tone but to your surprise it wasn't that at all. As she continued, you grew estatic.
"Students, we live in a world filled with amazing things, and we don't understand most of it. However, as of recently the monsters have given us new chances to further our understanding of our planet. Your project is to work with a monster, whether it be online or in reality I don't care, and find out their special abilities. Write a report throughly explaining the mechanics of that power, then try to find a way to utilize that power in an invention or exhibition that would benefit all existence. Papers are due within the next week. Make it good. If you don't like monsters, grow a pair and get chatty. It will qaulify as a test grade."
