"What?!" Arina spits, glaring and fangs popping from her mouth for a split second.
Clara takes in a breath, shaking her head. "Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for you?" Clara asks her and Arina and I meet incredulous looks.
"What do you mean?"
Clara hesitates a moment, then turns to the right and waves her hand. A large rectangular like door made from fire shows up and a second later Chang walks through.
I squawk and Arina growls loudly. She runs her hands through her hair.
"Why in Elo are we so lucky?!" She yells and Chang rubs his hands together, pulling against his collar.
"Oh good, you made it safely. I was afraid the guards would kill you on spot."
Arina is shocked to the core, not able to keep her wide glowing red eyes at bay.
Clara smiles warmly. "Nice to see you again Chang."
"Yes well, I'm afraid I can't say the same about you..." He looks around the area, disgusted. "This place could use some work."
"The air conditioning broke a few weeks ago... Melted."
Arina chokes.
Chang looks at us, then to Clara. "Untie them. Don't be rude." He turns back to the door. "Sherbert! I said twenty minutes ago to notify Clara about their arrival!"
"Sorry sir! Won't happen again!" A robotic voice yells from the other side and Chang rolls his eyes.
He snaps his fingers and the door disappears and Clara whirls her hands and the ropes melt off my wrists.
Arina stands, turning her wrists and still glaring at Chang. "Care to explain?"
Chang hesitates, shrugging. "Do you remember that story I told you about? The one about the mother I couldn't help?"
My eyes widen and I turn to Clara. "That's her?"
Chang laughs. "Oh heavens no! That's her daughter."
Arina stares at Clara with fascination. "You're half Slytin?"
Clara hesitates, looking uncomfortable. "Uh... Yes... But I haven't been able to do much other then fork my tongue and slit my eyes."
Arina doesn't seem to care, still fascinated. "That's so cool."
Chang clears his throat. "Now that we're all set and ready. We need to plan a way to get out of here..." He tilts his head, looking around. "Where are the others?"
"Sent down to the other cells around the corner," Clara responds and Chang clicks his tongue.
"That makes sense. Because I think your little ice angel made a doozy."
Arina and I make scared glances. "We need to find them," Arina states.
"Fast," I finish and Clara huffs out a sigh.
"The guards don't rotate for another few minutes."
"Where do they rotate to?" Arina asks.
"Lunch."
Arina taps her chin, then begins to look through her satchel.
"What are you doing?" I ask her, and she doesn't respond.
She takes a mango. "Hold this," She demands and passes it to me. "I'll be the distraction. The guards should be guarding the entrance to these cell chambers am I correct?"
