SAM stared up at the open sky. She had screamed when the shift happened but after that she just stared at the blank, cloudless sky. What's wrong with me? She asked herself. Why in the world am I just waiting here for a miracle to happen?! Eva had risked her life to save her and now she was just sitting here waiting for superman to come flying in. No! Sam wasn't going to be the girl who sat and watched anymore. There were no heroes in this world, life was hard and unfair, you either saved yourself or die at the hands of others.

EVA laid still, completely motionless. The only sound she heard where the distant screams as her classmates, friends, family members, teachers and other people she cared about died. Eva was in so much pain that breathing made her feel like someone had decided to drop 10 cinder blocks on her chest. Her head was still throbbing from hanging upside-down and.. she didn't even want to talk about her arm.

Her mind drifted to Cameron and the day they had gone swimming at the nearby lake. When he took of his shirt, and he flexed his 6 pack Abs and tightened his hard chest. Eva could feel her heart thumping against her chest. All she wanted was to curl up next to him, by the fireplace and read a nice book whilst feeding each other chocolates. You couldn't blame her for dreaming, Cameron was the ideal boyfriend anyone could want. He wasn't the captain of the football team or anything like that. He just kept fit. He was into Poetry and Literature. He spent his free time studying and spending time with her. His mom, Cathy was a criminal lawyer and his dad, Jason was a Residential Broker. Eva couldn't help but smile when thinking of him.

'Eva??!!' Eva pushed herself up quickly, ignoring the intense pain. 'Cameron!!??' She cried. Cameron limped towards her. The sunlight made his blue eyes sparkle. His brown hair was messy and uncouth, but to Eva, he never looked hotter. Her stomach clenched as she ran to him and bear hugged him. 'How?! How...?' Cameron looked at her warily, his face was beaten up badly and his fingers on his right hand we're bend in an awkward angle. 'Not important. We have to find Sam and leave. If another of those 'things' happen we'll probably die.' BOOM. Another wave of pain struck her. Cameron grabbed her, accidentally hitting her broken ribcages and she cried out. 'Camer....RON!'

Cameron's face flickered with shock. 'I'm so sorry!!'' He laid her down on the side of the building, trying his best to be careful. 'I'll need to see what's wrong Eva.' He carefully lifted up her blouse and muffled a gasp. 'Eva.. it's not good. Your ribcage seems to be.. Poking out of your skin.' Eva looked at him waiting for him to grin cheekily and say it was nothing, but his face was grim. 'We need to find a doctor.'
