LYDIA wasn't angry anymore. She had managed to make up with her mother and everything was fine till the strange men had knocked at her door.
Lydia and Kelè were at the dinning table, Lydia's father, Cole was taking the night shift at his job. KNOCK! KNOCK! 'Coming!' Kelè shouted and laid down her utensils. She walked to the door and opened it. 'How can I help....' Her voice was interrupted by the sound a shotgun barrel being pulled. 'Run!' Kelè dropped to the ground and the man fired. The sound was devastatingly loud and Kelè ears were ringing.
The two men, dressed in casual clothes, as though they were ready for a Safari. Walked in and stepped over Kelè body completely ignoring her now. They wanted Lydia. One of the men ran up to her and she suspended gravity at the spot where he was standing. He flew to the ceiling but managed to land without hurting himself. 'Fabian!' He yelled. 'Get her now!'
The other man, Fabian, lunged at her and brought the barrel of his gun down on her head. Lydia fell to the ground in a heap, her head was throbbing badly. 'No!' She heard her mother yell. Suddenly, her mother extended her hand out and one of the walls in the kitchen expanded outwards and spiders, millions of spiders crawled out. They scuttled towards Fabian and crawled up his body. Fabian screamed in horror as the spiders ate his flesh and soon he was a pile of bones on the floor.
Kelè ran, grabbed her daughter and sprinted out the house. She waved her hands behind as she ran and the ground split open and a horrible creature floated out. It looked like smoke rising from the ground but it's face was a hole, a hole leading to nowhere. The creature opened it face up and a force of unimaginable power sucked her house up. The house creaked and groaned angrily and boards were sucked up like dust in a vacuum. After finishing their jobs, the spiders and Vortex creature disappeared in a wisp of black smoke. An empty plot of land was all that remained. The house which Lydia had been brought up in was no longer in existence.

'This can't be happening!' Terry yelled to the council. The council looked at him with surprise. Terry was supposed to be the straight headed leader and not a shouting imbecile. Suddenly Aila stands up and gives her point of view. 'Well, it finally has come to it and there's nothing we can do about this. The've made their first moves now it's out turn.' Aila storms out of the meeting hall with her gun already in her hand. 'Please... This wasn't our intention.' Terry pleads. 'We don't even know who this Receiver is!'
'I know!' Everyone in the meeting hall goes quiet. A man with a stern face, broad shoulders dressed in a General clothes stomped in. 'Her name is Lydia Coleman, and she's based in Cape Town.'
'Cape Town?! As in the one in South Africa?' Someone asks,
'Yes you imbecile! How many Cape Town's are there?' The General shouted.
'That's a long range.' Terry replied.
'You are right my dear Terry, it is a long range. So in case it hasn't occurred to you we need to take her down!' The right side of the meeting hall cheered and applauded at the chance to kill a Receiver.
The meeting hall where they were meeting consisted of a round table facing a screen with a map of the world. A break area with coffee and snacks was two the right of the room. The table was split equally, 6 representatives for the Receivers and 6 representatives for the Rebels. They had these meeting once a week, a hopeless effort to try and keep peace between the two parties. 'Kill her!!' They cheered. And soon enough the Rebels had sent some head hunters out.
