LYDIA AND KELÈ ran as far away from the house as they could. When Lydia had asked about her father, Kelè ignored her completely and told her to keep running. Every now and then Lydia would suspend gravity behind her just in case any one was following. Kelè had just kept running. Only once did she call another creature for help, a griffin. It carried them across a ravine and then disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

'Stop! Please Mum stop!' Kelè turned back to her and grabbed her arm tightly , 'There is no time for stopping Lydia! They might be right behind us! ' Lydia shoved her mother away and stood firm on the ground. 'I'm not moving till you explain mum! What are we? What are those demons that keep appearing? Who are the people chasing us? Why can't I control the extent of my powers like before?' Kelè stared at her daughter and didn't move for a few minutes. 'Fine.' She said,' I'll explain.'

Kelè flicked her hand at the ground and a hand shot up through the damp soil. They creature crawled up through the dirt and Lydia gasped, seeing it. It was humongous, taller than the trees in the forest where they were currently standing in. It's face was stuck in a permanent frown as though someone had stole it's balloon at its fifth birthday party. A giant nail stuck out from the back of its head and his back looked like a giant pin cushion. 'Keep watch while we talk.' Kelè said to the giant.

They sat down on the ground and Lydia listened intently to her mother while she spoke. 'Lydia, my baby. We are part of a group, a group which consists of special people like us.'

'You mean people with powers?' Lydia interrupted.

'Yes. We are widely known as the Receivers. ' Kelè replied.

'Ok... so what exactly are our powers called?' Lydia asked.

'Well, your power, more commonly known as Gifts, is the ability to control gravity. The reason why you can only do small areas now is because every Receiver is able to do what we call a "power burst". When we do a "power burst" we are using a little bit of our own life source to increase the extent of our Gifts. It gives us more control and more power.'

'What does that mean?' Lydia quizzed.

'Lydia, your grandfather died because he only used "power bursts". It shortens your life span and if you were to keep using it, you would end up like your grandfather. Killed by your powers."

'Ok... so basically don't use "power bursts" unless in dire situations.' Lydia said finally understanding.

'Yes. And just so you know my Gift is the ability to summon creatures, demons, spirits and monsters into our world to do my bidding. I was like you in the beginning. Always depending on it, but I managed to survive a long time without it. Until those stupid Rebels arrived.'

'Ok explain to me what those Rebels want.' Lydia asked again.

'There's a war going on Lydia. It's not so simple that I can just explain it all to you but I can tell you that they want to kill us and that's why we need to keep moving. '

Kelè got up and looked around for any signs of trouble. She offered a hand to her daughter but Lydia suspended gravity under her and she came floating up and landed on her feet. THUD! THUD! Pause. THUD! THUD! A tree came crashing down near them and a giant body fell onto the ground, blood seeping from its head. The ground shook as though there was an earthquake. Two bodies came out of the shadows. A mean looking man and a beautiful woman with stunning blue eyes, red hair and a athlete's body.

The man grabbed a sword of his back and sprinted towards Kelè and the beautiful woman unsheathed two deadly daggers and held them tightly as she ran at Lydia. Kelè dodged his first attack and punched him hard in the neck. He collapsed on the ground and Kelè summoned a horrible decaying hand which grabbed him and dragged him into the ground, into the place where all the monsters that Kelè summoned lived in.

Lydia was having trouble with the woman. Every time she suspended gravity, she had managed to avoid it. The woman threw a dagger at Lydia and managed to impale her leg. Kelè ran to help her but she was greeted by two more Rebels. It was an ambush! Kelè reached her hand up to the sky like she trying to catch a ballon which had floated away and three demons fell from the trees. They looked exactly the same except for the color of their little wisps of hair on their heads. Black, Purple and Yellow. The demons had black leathery wings and claws sticking out from their fingers. Shark-like teeth could be seen as they growled at the Rebels.

'Attack!' Kelè yelled and the creatures, Furies if Lydia remembered correctly, pounced on their prey. The woman, Ciara as the other Rebel had called her, dodged the Yellow-Haired Fury's attack nimbly. She spun gracefully and shoved her other dagger straight into its ugly face. The Fury exploded in a cloud of smoke and Ciara smiled. 'Lydia now!' Kelè yelled. Gravity suspended. Ciara flew up into the sky, yelling hateful words at them. CRACK! BOOM! Lighting flashed across the sky and thunder clapped. Someone, a boy around 15, grabbed Lydia and suddenly she was gone. Gone. The boy reappeared and grabbed Kelè. Kelè saw the world spin and suddenly she was in the middle of a highway.

'Aaaaaghhhhhh!' Lydia screamed as a car swerved past her. She cancelled gravity and the car in front of her lifted into the sky. 'Stop!!' Kelè yelled.

She ran towards her daughter and pushed her to the ground. The boy appeared again. He grabbed both of them and the world spun in a blur around them. They reappeared in the middle of an office. A meeting half way through. A woman screamed and suddenly they were out of there. A cinema. A restaurant. Someone's filthy home. 'Ok we're here. ' The boy said. They had stopped in front of a big big skyscraper. 'Welcome to the West-chester Building.'

TERRY had called for Bayley and he was there in an instant. Bayley was an 18 year old boy, built like a gymnast, big shoulders, strong arms, tall, blonde hair and green eyes that made every girl weak at the knees. Not only was he a handsome young man, he also was what Gracie, a 10 year old girl with the Gift of being able to identify other Receivers, had called a powerful Aura. Gracie had described to Terry that when using her power, which was like changing a filter on a camera, that Receivers had Aura's glowing around their body, whilst normal humans and Rebels were a dull grey.

According to her, Bayley had a dark red and black Aura. She didn't know how to explain how she knew, all she could say was that she could feel their power, whether it was strong or not. Gracie was in the room too when Terry had called for Bayley and the rest of the Soldiers out. Three other people were part of the Soldiers: Carson, Penn and Joe. Penn was already out grabbing that South African Girl and her mother.

Carson was a blonde, skinny girl with braces and pigtails. She was pretty but not hot and guys didn't usually notice her, but she was fine with it. No one would like her when the knew her Gift.
