Ava's POV:

The poor girl. I feel horrible. Em is like my sister, we've been friends since we were born. We grew up in the same hospital, we were born at the same time, same day. This girl is my soul sister. Literally. We can't part for more than 2 days, do you really think I would be able to live if she dies? Her hair, dark chocolate, soft and lush brings memories to fifth grade when we used each other's hair as a mustache, her light olive skin, shiny blue eyes, this girl is my idol. I just hope that I am hers.

"Look, Em, please, have some rest, you'll get through it." I said. Hopefully, that broke the silence.

"What will I tell Aiden? What if he leaves me?"  Aiden was her boyfriend, they've dated for the past two years, and I hoped they would continue. nonetheless, I didn't know what to tell her.

"Emi, this is Aiden, I wouldn't be surprised if he proposed to you!" This made her laugh, and it was the first time in a month.

"Time flies, you'll start treatment soon, your dad's paying for it, your Mum has hope, so should you. already been here a month, it feels like it's our second day here!" Then, I saw the expression on her face, and guilt paid a visit to my heart. Only then did I realize what I said.

"Wait, Em, no I swear that's not what I meant!" What I said, meant that time flies, meaning she would die early. Too early. We're only sixteen. I might be selfish, but I don't want to grow up without her. I won't. "Em, If you die, I will die with you. I will never let you fall, I'll stand up with you forever, I'll be there for you through it all, even if saving you sends me to heaven."

Em smiled at me. "You're the best, Av." She said. I pretended to wipe tears from my eyes. "I know."

We both giggled and I enveloped her in a big hug. "I'll always be here for you," I said with a grin. "Today, tomorrow, always."
