AS EMILIA STEPPED onto the rising platform, Doctor Soniya introduced herself to Will. She explained the causes and issues with Emilias body not being able to fight cancer due to the broken cells.
"Emilia, don't forget, no rings or watches allowed. Take of any earrings or necklaces as well. It may infer with the energy hitting the right spot and destroying the infected cells." Soniya remained calm, but reminded Emilia with a sturdy voice.
"Will stayed near, but wasn't allowed too close." Emilia told Ava on the phone, while using her fathers credit card to pay.
"Miss, we need you pin, please."
352719, Emilia reminded herself. "Wait...it didn't work?" She asked.
Maybe its 357219, she thought, highly unsure. "Miss, the machine states there's no money on the card...do you have another option?"
"No money?!" She cried. Emilia scrolled through her contacts to find Papa. I should change it sometime soon. She thought. "Hello?"
"Papa where's my money?"
"It's been stolen...by your mother."

"I can't take the two of you. I just had my second session of chemo. I need you to transfer 700 Dollars. Fast. Im waiting."
As Emi waited for her father to tranfer the money, she spoke to her mother. "Mama, I need you to be honest. What happened?"
Cathie explained that she needed to steal the money for the apartment. Our landlord asked for three percent more in the rising of rent.

Ten minutes later.

"Here you go, thanks!" Emilia took Wills hand and dragged him out.

"Look, I'm sorry I tried to embarass Nate infront of you. I love you." Will chuckled. "It's okay" He told her.

When they got home, Emilia noticed something different in her. She thought she might have smudged her makeup, but little did she know, it was a lot worse. "Ava? Come here for a sec."
Ava strolled into the closet. "Hey E, how was chemo?"
Emilia told Ava about the rent, and the money. She didn't, however, mention the stolen money, which -Mind you-was the reason they returned late.

A few months passed by, and Emilia began to lose her hair, common for someone attending sessions of chemotherapy. Will takes her to the mall every four days, and the girls- who are now closer than ever- take her partying. Even with people knowing about cancer, people don't really...mock you. You would expect the society to feel bad for you, or to encourage you that everything will be okay, or they try to be nicer, but in Emilias school, it happened really differently. Emilia got treated by an outsider, an alien, an outcast. She got lied to, she got treated differently, but not all in bad ways. Even though she could adapt to everything, she felt the re was no need to panic. Soon, with her chemotherapy needing a 6 month break, she would grow her hair back, and her eyebrows, and eyelashes. Many of the girls treated Em a lot nicer, and I never in a million years, thought I'd tell you this, but even Alex was nice. She didn't act like a spoiled brat, and was kinder.

Today, marks the last day of Emilias chemotherapy, for four months there is a break to see if any progress has been made, but still, Emilia was scared. "I don't think I can." Emilia told Soniya. She tried to persuade herself, but gave up. Emilia started at take off her jewelry. "i'm scared..." Soniya chuckled. "Stop it, you'll be fine."
