Chapter 24

Rickys POV

The business trip I was talking about was with my dads best friend Mr Brooke.
He now runs the crime investigation tv show.

Did you find the truck yet?

Uncle: no son I've tried my best but there's no such truck like that.

Uncle: I'm concerned about you hiding Jenelle from the police, i saw the video of both of you in that clothing store.

Who told you? Who showed it to you?

Uncle: Stacey.

God damit!

Uncle: you know she isn't a bad girl, everyone wants you to get married with her.. think about it, she's pretty she cares about you, what more do you want? Besides what's the relationship with you and Jenelle?

I smiled without explaining a thing.

Uncle: about the nurse who tried to poison you, the police tired to ask her why she did such a thing but she can't remember why and who told her to do so.

Everything happening to me now just surprises me.

The truck, the nurse, my own actions on the roof—they don't make sense, because the murder should have motive and a culprit, but all i have is a series of inexplicable incidents.

it's been like ten years ago when my family was gunned down, for no apparent reason.

What if the killer is of a different dimension?

Uncle: you mean like an alien?

I laughed.

Sure, maybe, though they look like regular people—like Jenelle.

Narrator
Ricky explains that Jenelle seems to know everything about him, including personal secrets he's never shared with anyone. It's as if she's looking down on him from the heavens, he muses, but the good news is that she has good intentions toward him and wants to save him. The thing he doesn't know is why.

What I know for sure is that Jenelle is the key to my life, she's the only person that'll open the secret door.
