Two Worlds

Chapter 41

Jaye comes up and says in a shaky voice that it was Ricky.
Jaye : I saw him in flesh with my own eyes.
Jenelle's hand closes up into a fist and she asks,
Jenelle : Did you see where he went?! I need to find him!

Jaye : You're father was right Jenelle, he had a reason to kill Ricky all this time he must've known this would happen and why did you save Ricky?

Sighing that if she'd only not saved him, this wouldn't have happened.
"He's just a cartoon character," Jaye argues.

Mom arrives and holds Jenelle's hand, and in the operating room, Professor was able to take the bullet out.

Down in the lobby of the hospital, Ricky walks up to the front desk and leaves a letter for Jenelle, asking for it to be delivered to her. He says nothing else, and heads back out into the rain.

The next morning, news breaks of Dad's shooting. He's still alive, but still hasn't regained consciousness. Dad's editors at the publishing house see the news and wonder if they should call Jenelle, because something is going on with the webtoon—they stare at the screen and say it's strange.

Jenelle sits by Dad's bedside and clutches his hand, unable to hold back her tears.
Ben: hey. you've been sitting here for a long time .. look at you, you look ugly meh well that's always but you don't want you're dad to see you like this when he wakes up. Go to the office and catch some sleep. I'll look after him.
Jenelle : Alright. Thank you Ben.

Jenelle gets a call from Dad's publisher, who hesitates to bother her with the webtoon at a time like this.

Publisher : greetings miss Jenelle sorry to call you at this point of time, but I wanted to ask you did you're dad upload a new chapter on webtoon?

Jenelle : No sir I don't think so. Why is there a problem?

Publisher : Umm well to be honest a new chapter has been released when your father was admitted at the hospital and it seems to be your fathers work. I wonder if maybe your Dad had finished the issue beforehand and scheduled it to send. The content seems to be odd too, so I wanted to double check with you before putting it up online.

Jenelle asks if she can see it first, and hesitates before opening the email from the publisher. When she finally clicks, she finds the newest episode called "Ricky's Awakening."
The issue details Ricky's moment of self-awareness when he discovers that he's a webtoon hero, and his journey across universes into the real world, where he found Jenelle in the hospital and shot his creator.
