Chapter 4

Amy:
     Looking at my schedule confused me. When I saw a few girls in the hall I stuff them to ask for help. "Hi. Can you help me?"
     Both of them turned in my direction."Sure. My name is Amber Martin. This is Ashley Jacobs. What's your name?"
     I thought this girl seemed nice enough. "My name is Amy Gerhartz. I'm having trouble figuring out my school schedule and getting through the school."
     Ashley smiled at me. "We will help you out. What grade are you in?"
     I am a freshman. What about you?"
     As Ashley took my school schedule from me she told me that they were both freshmen as well. "Maybe I had a chance of making friends before the school year ended." That's what I was thinking at the time. Ashley told me that we had the same homeroom so she would walk down with me. But before we started walking down to homeroom Amber spoke up. "Make sure you look for us at lunch, Amy. See you guys later. Oh, Ashley, don't forget about Allie."
     Ashley smile. "Trust me, Amber. I haven't forgotten about Allie. See you at lunch."
     We walked down and talked on the way down. "Do you have any siblings, Amy?"
     "Yes. Five siblings." Four younger, one older."
     I don't have any siblings. I like it that way. That probably sounds really bad. But I'm the girl who has all the cool parties in the freshmen class. Actually, kids from all classes end up coming to my parties. Hang out with me and Amber and we'll make sure you hang out with all the cool kids. We will make sure you stay away from the losers." I really didn't know what to make of that comment. I never really considered any kid a loser.
     My morning classes seemed to drag on forever. Finally, lunch came and I was dreading it. I didn't know if I really wanted to eat with those girls. Something about them just didn't sit right with me. And it didn't help that I had my eye on a cute guy in fourth period.
