The usual smell of pancakes and maple syrup filled the apartment. Avery always loved her moms pancakes. They were always perfectly fluffy and soft. Avery was 15 years old, but was turning 16 in may. She was so excited to get her drivers license. However, her mom kept telling her that she was not responsible enough to drive a car. A few of her friends who had birthdays earlier in the year had already gotten their learners.

"Avery can you pass the syrup," her mom asked. Avery reached for the syrup, but it ended up spilling all over the table.

"Really Avery?" her mom said angrily. She picked up a red kitchen cloth that was sitting on the sink and started to clean up the sticky mess.

"I am sorry mom," Avery apologized.

"Well, we better get going or else I will have to drop you off at the other drop off," her mom started to put Avery's dishes away. Avery put on her black school shoes and grabbed her heavy backpack. Avery always liked to go early because then her mom could drop her off right in front of the school. If they didn't get to the school by 8:00 then her mom would have to drop her off at the side drop off which was a much further walk. She also liked going early so that she could just relax. Many of her friends also went early so they always got some time to chat and catch up before school.

Avery's mom pulled up at her school just in time. Avery hopped out of the car quickly just in case the head of her school saw her. Even though it was before 8:00 she was still worried that she might get into trouble. Avery punched the school code into the keypad and the doors made a grumbling noise which meant that they could now be opened. She opened the door and she felt a rush of sadness and stress. Every single day she came to this place. A place full of worry and anxiety. Avery went to a privet school which was all girls, and all of them cared a lot about their grades. Avery had gone to this school since kindergarten, and lately, she had hated the place. Avery always had test after test, and it was so tiring. She knew some other girls at public school and she was always shocked by how their school lives were so different. They had low expectations and their lives always seemed so interesting. Another problem about Avery's school was that she felt like she was sheltered. She felt like her school was this bubble and the bubble always kept bad stuff out. The school was also so small. Everyone in the school knew everyone.

Avery started to walk up the endless stairs. Her school was 3 floors and her locker was on the third floor. While she walked up the stairs she looked up. Her school had recently been renovated and it was pretty much made up of all glass and concrete. It had recently snowed so the skylight was covered with snow making the school dark and gloomy. There were a few extra lights on, but it was still kinda dark. To anyone, the school would be a dream. It looks beautiful and modern, but Avery no longer felt that way. Whenever a guest came to the school they would always love how her school looked, but Avery went to the school every day and she no longer felt like that.

After climbing the mountain of stairs she went to her locker to put away her coat and her P.E bag. She turned her lock and matched up the blue arrow with the blue numbers. Then she pulled the lock open. She opened the glass orange for of the locker and threw her stuff in. However, the locker door started to close by itself and she was not able to stop it in time, and then door smashed onto her elbow. It hurt a bit, but not terribly. She locked her locker and then went to the large table to meet with her friends. On every floor at her school, there was an area with a long table and a few chairs. There was also a TV screen. It was supposed to be a space where you could have a class outside of a classroom. In her 3 years of being in the new school, she had never had a class out there. Most of the time the tables were just resting places where you could chill with you friends when you didn't have class.

"Hey!" Avery greeted her friends. She then slouched into a chair. The chair moved a bit because it had wheels. She then went on her phone and scrolled through Instagram. Avery had a fan account for her favorite celebrity couple, Caitlyn and Jacob. They were from her favorite tv show meltdown. Caitlyn and Jacob weren't together in real life because Jacob was married. They were a couple on the tv show, but Avery always wanted them together in real life. Avery's mom didn't like it when Avery talked a lot about Caitlyn and Jacob, and she never knew why. So she always saved her fan girling  for at school. He friends always thought that she was crazy, but she didn't care. Avery loved to write fan fiction about Caitlyn and Jacob. Lots of people read it too. She tried her best to always make her fan fiction and real as possible. She used some facts to make things more realistic. She loved Caitlyn and Jacob, but she did not hate Jacob's wife. She hated it when people were disrespectful of her.

The first bell rang and Avery headed to her first class which was science. Avery actually liked science this year because she could just go on her laptop the whole class. The teacher gave them notes to fill out for homework so for every test she could just study that. The only time she actually had to pay attention was when the teacher was telling them what would be on the test and what could not be on the test. So much of what her teacher taught her was just FYI information.

This class Avery decided to read some fanfic. She normally never read Fanfic about Caitlyn and Jacob because she didn't want to copy any of the author's ideas. Instead, she looked at what was recommended for her to read. Nothing appealed to her until she found a fanfic about Jennifer Morrison and Colin O'donoghue. It was a pretty old fanfic since it was made in 2017. She started to read a bit of it. It turned out that Jennifer and Colin were on the TV show Once Upon A Time together. Avery knew that her mom Jennifer had been on that show, but her mom never said anything about Colin. Who was he?

I can't believe that it has been 3 years since Another try. Here is the next chapter of Jennifer and Colin's story. Let me know what you think. I have plans for more chapters, but I don't know if I should post them yet. I might take a break from What's Right in Front of You and update this story. Comment what you guys think/ what story I should update.
