After the dinner Avery's mom drove her home. "How was the dinner?" Jennifer asked. "Good," Avery said looking down at her phone. "What did you eat?" Jennifer tried to make small talk with her daughter. Things had been so tense between them since Avery found out about her farther. "Pasta," Avery answered sharply with one word in hopes that her mom would stop talking to her. Avery and her mom were pretty close. However, Avery never told her mom how she felt about things. She didn't like to share her feelings with people she liked to just keep them hidden in her journal. "Don't talk to me like that," her mom raised her voice. "Sorry," Avery grumbled under her breath.

When Avery got home she collapsed onto her bed she was exhausted and couldn't wait to just fall asleep. She had felt like that a lot lately. She always couldn't wait to go to sleep. It was only time where she could just relax. Avery got changed into her pyjamas and laid down in her bed. Her mom tucked her in every night. Even though she was way to old for a good night kiss, she felt comfort in it. When her mom came into the room she sat down on the corner of Avery's bed. Avery knew that her mom wanted to talk. "We need to talk about you..." Jennifer trailed off. She had no idea what to call Colin. He was her farther, but she had always told herself that he wasn't because he didn't know about her. "My father," Avery finished the sentence for her mother and sat up to face her. "He doesn't know about you," Jennifer retold Avery. "Why didn't you tell him?" Avery asked Jennifer. "I already told you, he was in a coma and he didn't remember anything," Jennifer said. "But from what Aunt Ginny said it seemed like you two were really on love. Why didn't you fight for him?" Avery asked. "It wasn't that simple Avery," Jennifer looked down. "Then explain it to me," Avery pleaded. "We were never supposed to be together," Jennifer sighed. "What does that mean?" Avery was now confused. "Before we were together Colin...your father was married to another woman. When he woke up from a coma he thought that he was still with her. He didn't remember that we were together," Jennifer tried her best to explain. "Did you try to explain things to him?" Avery asked. "No I didn't," Jennifer started to feel tears forming on her eyes. "Do you still love him?" Avery asked even though she already knew the answer. When her mom didn't reply Avery asked, "tell me about my farther."
"He always tried to make me laugh. We were both going through tough times when we were on Once and we kinda just helped each other out. He was always so nice to everyone. He would have been a great farther to you," Jennifer smiled. "He still can be my father," Avery told Jennifer. "Ok fine, I will see what I can do," Jennifer smirked. "I'm gonna meet my farther!" Avery said excitedly. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Jennifer laughed.

The next day at school Avery felt a lot better. Having the talk with her mother made Avery excited to meet her father. Jennifer finally gave into Avery. While Avery was at school Jennifer tried her best to track down Colin. Ginny and Josh left the show the same year that Jennifer did. However, they still kept in contact with Lana, so they gave Jennifer her number. Lana and Colin continued on with the show after Jennifer left. Throughout the whole day Jennifer tried to figure out what she would say to Lana. They hadn't spoken in years. Jennifer lost all contact with the cast except for Ginny and Josh. Jennifer was going to write out what she was going to say to Lana, but each time she wrote something down the paper turned into a crumpled ball that ended up on the recycling.

After a few hours Jennifer gave up and decided just to call her. She dialled the number and waited for her to pick up. Jennifer was surprised when Lana started to talk on the third ring. "Hello?" Jennifer heard through the phone. She stated to panic. "Hello anyone there?" Lana said. "Hey Lana it's me, Jen," Jennifer finally said. "Jennifer Morrison is that you?" Lana said shocked. "Yeah, it's me," Jennifer smiled and started to relax. "Who are you doing?" Lana asked. "Pretty good, but I kinda have a favour to ask," Jennifer said. "Sure, what's up," Lana said wanting to help. "Do you have Colin's number?" Jennifer asked. "While it's about time," Lana laughed. "What?" Jennifer asked confused. "You are finally gonna talk to him again!" Lana said excited. "While I am kinda gonna blow his whole life apart," Jennifer corrected. "Your gonna tell him about your kid," Lana finally understood. "Her name is Avery and she convinced me that she needed to meet her farther," Jennifer explained the situation. "Well she does deserve to know," Lana understood what Avery wanted. Jennifer had kept Avery away from her farther for too long. Colin needed to know the truth about his life before the accident. "Did Colin ever remember anything?" Jennifer asked. "I think that's something that you need to talk to him about," Lana responded.
