I Thought She Forgot Chapter 7

"Carolina are you even listening?"

"Huh? What happened again?" I asked not really paying attention.

"I asked if you wanted to hangout after school?" asked McKenzie.

"Oh! umm.. yeah sure." I wasn't myself today. I mean after he, Zach, stayed over last night and the day before that its been alot for me.

"Whatever's in your mind is really distracting you." McKenzie said worried.

"Its alright nothing is bothering me." I lied.

"Well if you need anything or anyone you know you can trust me." McKenzie smiled and walked back to her seat.

I took a deep breath.

I don't wanna lie, but I have to keep this secret for now.

"Okay! Shut up class!" yelled Ms.Garlarza. "Get your paper out from yesterday and I'll give you 20 minutes to finish it!"

Everyone groaned.

"Your welcome." Ms.Garlarza sarcastically said.

I quickly pulled out my folder from my backpack. As I opened it, searching for my assignment, I found that weird letter I haven't opened yet.

I forgot about this! Oh man, I haven't even read it. Maybe I should show to McKenzie. Yea! I'll do that.

I grabbed the letter and shoved it carefully in my backpack.

"Carolina!?"

I jumped.

"Ah-Yess? Ms.Garlarza?"I asked.

"Get to work."

As soon as school was over I decided to finally tell McKenzie about the weird letter.

"I trust her." I kept reminding myself that so I won't have a hard time telling her.

I made my way out the doors until I felt an arm wrapping around my shoulder.

"H-hey!" I immediately shook off the arm and later faced Zach.

"Zach?! I thought you skipped school today!"

"I got bored so I thought I should go ahead and mess around with the teachers." he laughed at his own joke.

"Well I gotta head somewhere." I turned to where the tennis fields were."Have fun."

"Hey wait!" Zach pulled my hand that made me spin and fall to his chest. He later gave me a hug.

"Thanks for last night." he whispered.

I blushed.

Then I realized that we were outside of the school building with a whole lot of students getting out! Damm!

I pushed him away and ran towards the tennis fields, ignoring the stares.

"Its been a while since I've last talked to her." I thought.

Ughhh!

I've been sick for the past two days. I don't know what happened. I was in shape and healthy, but I guess the cold will go away sooner or later.

I threw my soccerball up and down from my bed. I laid there awake with a cold and a sore throat. I missed a few practices & a game which really sucked.

"knock, knock!"

There was a knock at my door. "Come in!" I yelled.

"Umm....Are you feeling better big brother?"
