"I thought you left to California!?"
"Just for my dad's job. I came back to live with my mom."Diego explained.
Diego was my old friend from when we were kids. I almost forgot about him. You see, I don't have a good memory when I was a child. I could only remember special times or dreadful times. I didn't mention this before but I have this amnesia disease. But bit by bit I'm remembering things.
"How many years has it been? 3, 4?"
"5." He corrected.
"Ohh."
Diego and I made our way out of school.
"So I can't hangout with you today?" He asked with a frown on his face.
"I'm really sorry Diego! I promised my friends I'll hang out with them today." I sighed.
"Alright..."
"Hey! Carolina!"
I could hear Hailey call, beeping her car.
"Coming!" I yelled."I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay."
I jogged to her car and hopped in the front seat next to her.
"Was that your cousin?" asked Hailey driving a little bit up.
"No just an old friend I haven't seen in years!" I smiled.
"Ohh!" Hailey laughed. "Try to find McKenzie, I can't see her!"
"Alrighty then." I joked.
Scanning throughout the school yard, McKenzie was no where in sight.
"Ughh where is she?" groaned Hailey.
"I think I se- oh never mind." I said.
"Hey guys! What's the rush?"
"Oh my god!"
"Shit!"
Hailey and me were startled by the yell. Turning back we saw McKenzie at the window of the car. She smiled and laughed at us.
"Get in the car!" Hailey demanded.
"Okay."
McKenzie opened the door and hopped right in the back seat. "Y'all got scared!" she laughed.
"Oh McKenzie..." Hailey sighed. "You scared the shit outta me!"
"As well for me." I admitted.
We then drove off leaving the school behind.
"Turn on the radio!" pleaded McKenzie.
"Turn it on Carolina." Hailey focused her eyes on the road. "I need a drive carefully cause I still don't get my license till Sunday."
"Hahahaa!" laughed McKenzie again. "I already have mines!"
"Good for you!" Hailey sarcastically said.
I laughed a bit and turned on the radio. "Which station?" I asked.
"106.1!"
"93.3!"
Two different choices.
"Alright lets listen to 106.1!" Hailey agreed.
As I turned up the radio and searched for the station.
Lately I've been,
I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things
That we could be...
"Stop the station there!" both McKenzie and Hailey practically screamed.
They both started singing along and enjoying the song.
"I know this song. It's by One Republic right?" I thought.
Will be counting stars...
Such a awesome song with its beats and melodies. We made it to this place called skate land.
Probably somewhere you skate.
"Lets go!" yelled McKenzie excited.
"Ready?" asked Hailey turning to look at me.
"I've never skated before."
"I'll teach you." chirped McKenzie.
"Th-Thanks." I said.
We entered the building that didn't seem to have anything in it.
"Next." grumbled the lady in the small office.
"3 please." said Hailey.
"That'll be 15 dollars."
Hailey finished paying we each had ticket in our hands. There was door next to the office that McKenzie told me to go into. I then slowly pushed the door and in a split second, I thought my mouth would drop to the floor.
There was a huge skating rink to the left with colorful flashing lights and a food bar that filled the air with its delicious aroma.
"Come on Carolina!" yelled McKenzie excited.
"Oh Okay."
I followed through a small crowd of teenagers talking and laughing. I bumped into a few people and I heard their growls.
"Watch it bitch!"
"Ughh!"
"Oh my gosh, she touched me with her cheap clothes!"
I sighed. "Lets just get this over with." I mumbled.
"Hey! Carolina! give your ticket to this guy and he'll give you a pair of roller skates."
I stood there staring at the skates. I didn't know what to say.
"What size, beautiful?" asked the guy at the counter.
"Size 6." I said. "please." I added.
He then turned and searched the shoes. When he found the size he turned back and gave them to me.
"Here you go." he winked. "Have fun ladies."
We went walking to the side of the rink which have a place to hang out and put your skates on.
"Hey! Alice and Jocelyn!" Hailey said.
There stood a girl with short dark hair and light skin. She wore a red hoodie-less sweater with blue skinny jeans and red vans. I assume it was Alice. The girl next to her was short girl who has glasses. Her hair was emoish but pretty. She wore a long sleeved shirt that said paramore, blacks jeans and black boots. Which I guess is Jocelyn.
"Hey there." Jocelyn smiled.
"Hello." Chirped Alice.
"H-Hi." I coughed out.
"Well lets have fun guys!" Hailey said.
