Michael
I'm sorry to inform you sir, but this young man has suffered from traumatic brain injury. Ashton didn't make it, Josh is in critical condition, and the little girl somehow walked away without a scratch.
The doctor's voice ran through my head as Tyler and I sit next to Leo, waiting for someone to tell us what was going on with her.
Luke and Calum came to get Logan, we couldn't bear to tell her what had happened yet. She's been talking about seeing her mom Bryana, Jenna and Leo since we found them.
"So if Jenna... and Bry is already... then does that mean, y'know, since Logan saw Leo with them, that shes..."
"Don't you fucking say it Tyler. Shes fine. Look at her! Shes breathing." I snap, pointing to my sleeping beauty.
I study Leo again, making sure everything on her machine was just how it was a few seconds ago.
I've been having random pulls in my chest, along with horrible coughing and tremors in my hands and head.
A nurse finally comes in the room. Tyler and I both look up at her, exhaustion filling our expressions.
"Leo suffered from brain inflamation, which explains..." she says, glancing over at the dry-erase board that had all of Leo's information on it.
"Which explains her hallucinations, loopiness, nausea, and fatigue."
"Is she-is she okay? Is she going to be okay?" I ask.
I can't lose her. Shes the fighter, and if she loses to this, then how can I ever overcome anything?
"Its kind of crazy actually, and I don't use that word often sir." The nurse laughs. "She shouldn't be okay, in fact, we don't understand how she lasted as long as she did. You could call it a miracle, because you must have someone, or something special watching over you guys. She should wake up any minute, but don't rush her."
"Thank you ma'am." I sigh in relief, not giving a single fuck about the tears rolling down my cheeks.
"And as for that adorable little girl that was entertaining our staff not too long ago, I hope she ends up okay, you know, with her dad and all."
"Thank you." Tyler and I both say.
"So I guess we just sit and wait." I sigh, not taking my eyes off of Leo.
My hands violently shake again. I grit my teeth, already knowing my head would be next.
My head uncontrollably jerks side to side, making everything in between my ears pulse.
"Are you okay?" Tyler asks, looking up at me with a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah. Do you- you wanna try and wake up Leo? Then we can go see Josh."
"The doctor said not to rush it Mike, lets go check on Josh." Tyler says, standing up from the uncomfortable fold out chair.
We get up and walk to the room that the nurses had said Josh was in.
As we pass so many rooms full of so many people. Sobbing, terrified, broken people.
Luke and Calum have been texting me, updating us on what has been going on. Everyone thinks this was a terrorist attack.
Just thinking about that makes my stomach turn in circles. How could someone hate us so much that they would purposely kill literally thousands of innocent people that they dont even know? People with futures ahead of them and families to take care of. Its disgusting.
