chapter  8: it started with a miss call

it was 6 in the evening and we just came back all the way from Malaysia, i was the  first one to go there in the whole church and i was the last person to go home also, but no worries, i'm with my family. i was staring blankly in the window while at the car going back to Manila, when suddenly  something was ringing in my cell phone.

it was a missed call

i was hoping it was Johnny, but i get was a random number, a different network than mine so i was so lazy to ask who the person was so i just left it as is.

but after a few minutes my cellphone had a text message

"Hi Joy how are you? this is Blake by the way"

i expected him to message me since i remember when we were in Malaysia, he asked for my number and he said he will text me as soon as he comes back in the Philippines

guess it was the other way around, he will text me, as soon as i came back

was that a welcome back message for me?

it was something like that since he left 2 days ago with the team

i just smiled and i replied him back "hey Blake! i'm doing fine, just came back all the way from Malaysia, we are going back to Manila already"

"so you just arrived, you better take a snack, it's a long trip for you, don't get too tired, by the way can i ask a question?" this was his reply

that was a sweet concern, i wonder how he could reply to my text message? i know his cellphone has no application for the talks yet, (the blind calls the cellphone application talks where they install in their phone that they could use it, it actually tells what they are clicking in their cellphone and even reads the text message, but no shortcuts only whole messages) but i just replied with caution since i know that someone was just reading it for him and he replies back

"thanks, what is your question anyway?" i replied with curiosity

"were you still angry at us? at me?"

"i'm already alright, i'm not angry at anyone anymore, it's just irritating to know that i just want to spend time with you guys but then it's not already a good effect on the others"

"we were just joking around, but i do hope you forgive us, i hope you forgive me, i don't really intend to join them in their jokes but then i would be out of place if i don't join them"

"yeah  i understood so don't worry about it, it's alright with me"

afterwards there was no more reply. he was trying to call me but i kept on rejecting it, i told him i'm on the road with my family so i can't really answer it.

few days after he kept on calling me but i still ignore him, he had text messages but i did not reply, since my other cellphone of his same network had no load i was so lazy to text him back in my other phone or even  load this network since i'm not really using it always.

i really don't mind if he's bugging me, but it's alright. . .he again continue to greet me whenever in church and be a gentleman (just like before when we were still acquaintance and last summer). he brings my bag, carries my phone, gives me chair and lots of stuff.

the girls in my room (my cousins and my sister) informed me that Blake is calling them lately and kept  on asking about me. i told them you remember last summer on what to do.

last summer  when my cousins, nieces are staying at our place. since there was still youth fellowship every Tuesday that time, we usually see the people in the church.
