Well I can't think of a description to add here so I'm going to just smash my face into the keyboard.

.......For some reason I thought it would be a little more exciting.
~ Levi P.O.V ~
It was my third day on the road, driving in the rickety old truck I had taken from the rogues. From what I calculated, the trip should have only taken two days, but the truck blew a tire while I was going through Oregon and I didn't have a spare. Now that I thought about it, I would probably have been better off running to Colorado.
I was utterly annoyed at the entire situation, not only because this trip was taking too long, but I was furious that the moon goddess forbade me from seeing my mate until "the right time".
'This thing is a piece of junk. Either all the tires will fly off or the engine will fall out. We should have taken the minivan!' Said my wolf, who had been complaining the entire drive.
'I don't care that there's a spring on this seat destroying my shoulder, we were not about to drive a minivan!' I retorted.
'Besides, this truck was your idea, Kane!'
He shut up after that, knowing that I was right. However, I could feel him pacing impatiently in my mind, desperate to get to our mate.
It was night as we were traveling through Utah, and I had decided to drive through the night, hoping to reach the Royal Pack by midday tomorrow. I was in a mountainous region when the car suddenly died. I had managed to pull over to the shoulder to avoid any oncoming traffic, although there was none since I was in the middle of nowhere.
I just sat there silently for a moment, just overwhelmed at how horrific this entire situation had been. I was tightly gripping the steering wheel as I leaned my forehead on it. My breathing become more and more rapid as I started to growl furiously. I opened the door so hard, nearly throwing it of its hinges before shifting and running into the forest. I had to try to calm myself down or I would have destroyed the car.
'Moon goddess, you have a great sense of humor.' I growled to myself.
After running for about half and hour, I came across a small house. The lights were on inside, but I couldn't see any people. An axe had been stuck into a tree stump and firewood was neatly lined up against the side. However, there were no roads around it, making it seem out of place within the vast forest. It was as if someone had just picked it up and dropped it in a small clearing.
For a reason I couldn't explain, I felt drawn to it. I noticed the front door was cracked open, so I cautiously entered. There was a small kitchen, dining room, and living room. To the right was a staircase which I assumed led to a bedroom. I was still in wolf form, trying to be quiet as I shuffled through the small home.
On the kitchen counter was part of a cooked chicken and my mouth watered. It smelled delicious and it had been hours since I ate last. I walked closer to it, debating on whether I should eat it considering it probably belonged to whoever lived here.
"Go for it."
I flinched and snapped my head toward the direction of the voice, while perking my ears. My eyes met with those of an elderly woman. She was at the bottom of the staircase and was holding a cane in her right hand. I was surprised that I never heard her make a sound.
"Go on. I've already eaten." She said with a smile.
I quickly gulped it down. She said nothing as I ate, but by her scent, I could tell she was human. I was just confused as to why she wasn't afraid of me.
