Chapter 19

Rathi P.O.V

I came to my regular work today there are two delivery case. One is over and another is going to start in few minutes.She is so much afraid. "Doctor please save my babies. I need both of them to be alive." Yes, its twins. "Be brave. Everything will be ok. Pray to your god." Her husband is standing near her. I called him and said. "Mr Venkatesh be calm. Your wife and children will be fine. Believe me." He is not convinced i think so. He just nodded and catched his wife hand. The delivery is going to start. Her husband is waiting outside. She holded my hand and said "Doctor everything will be fine right?" I smiled and said "You will leave this hospital with your both the children. Ok??" She smiled. Then the operation begin and it was success. Both are girls. Both are cute too. After one hour i again came to see her. She and her husband are playing the babies. Lovely scene. When i came near her she smiled and said thanks. I smiled and took one girl in my arms. Then i again left it near her. Then i called one nurse "Give them two thayathu ok." " What thayathu?" Asked lakshmi and venkatesh at the same time. "Yes. Why are you shocking like this? Have you ever heard it before?" "Thayathu means in village they will tie it for their children right? Its not necessary for our child." Venkatesh said. I smiled i said "Do you know why they are doing that?" " Yes. Its just superstitious belief doctor if we tie it in future it will save our child. Do you think it will save our child?" "Yes. It will save your child." " How?" " Do you know what is that for?? Our ancestors will save the umbilical cord in that." " Umbilical cord??" " Yes. Do you know the importance of saving that? In future if your daughter get some disease which cannot be cured it can cured with that. Our ancestors after the baby birth they will save that umbilical cord and let it dry. After some days they will powder it and keep that in this thayathu. Now tell me do you think this is superstitious belief??" They both didn't speak for a while. "If you think your child don't want to wear it you can keep it with you. When it is needed you can give it. We are doing this for every one in our hospital for their children sake. Your children is your life. Think of it."  They both saw each other and then they took it. "Am sorry doctor. I will do it for my children." I smiled and said "Believe me our ancestors are the best doctors and scientist who are gone unknown to the world. But we know them. We can bring back our old practises soon." They both smiled and nodded. I left the room. I went to see another patient. After rounds i left the hospital. The moment i reached home "Mom filter coffee please." I saw the time its 9.30 pm. I switched on the tv and started watching random channel. Then in local channel vijay film is going on. Its gilli movie. "Wow" i shouted. I started to watch it. Actually its old film but i like it now also. I have seen this movie more than 1000 times but also i am crazy on this movie. Then i saw coffee on the table. I will first smell its aroma. "The aroma is different. Mom did you.. A.K??" " Am sorry i don't know to put filter coffee so i just used instant powder." He said. "What you made it? Where is mom and what are you doing here at this time?" " Miss Rathiksha breath in breath out breath in breath out. Come on do it now." "What? Are you crazy? Mr A.K i asked you 3 questions answer me at least for one." " Yes i made this coffee." " Huh??" " What you said to answer for one question right?" I smiled and drank that coffee. Actually i hate instant coffee. But this is special right. "Is it good?" He asked with full nervous. Like a 12th boy is waiting for the result. "Its sweet." " This means i added too much of sugar??" I laughed. "No no. Its good." "Oh ok." He smiled.

A.K P.O.V

I came to rathi's home to meet her father. Today morning i got the information that someone is following rathiksha. Regarding this i came to warn Mr Narayanan. No one was in the home but the door is opened. One servant came to me "Yes sir what you want." "I need to meet Mr.Narayanan." "Sir is not at home. Madam went to relative's house." Then i called Mr. Narayanan. He said he is on the way to home. I was just looking around. Then i heard door opening. "Mom filter coffee please." Rathiksha?? I went to hall at some distance i was observing her. She is watching gilli movie. She is so excited for an old movie? Unbelievable. I prepared a coffee for. Actually i have never been to kitchen before. I went to you tube and saw how to prepare  coffee. Then i prepared it and kept it near her table. She took it and inhaled its aroma. Amazing by just inhaling that aroma she found that its not her mothers coffee. She stood up like a strom. Oh my god this girl is different species in human being. After that i explained every thing to her why i came everything. Its sweating for her. I took my hand kerchief out of my pocket and wiped it. "What happend? Are you ok?" " Actually you and me are alone in the home right?" "Yes. So what?" I asked. Suddenly the power was cut. She suddenly caught my hand. "A.K you are near me right?" She said. Oh she is afraid of darkness. I smiled to myself. "Am always for you. I mean am always near you rathiksha." Suddenly i saw something is moving. I took my phone and switch on torch. "Oh god. I shouted." I pulled rathiksha near me. Some one came to attack us. I just gave one punch he fell on the floor. "Rathiksha." I called her but she is not near me. Suddenly the power came "Rathiksha.." I screamed.
